Rev. J. J. F, Goodman brought
us a twig of a mulberry tree from
Mr. John B. Paulk’s yesterday that
was five inches long and had on it
one hundred and eleven mulberries
almost full grown.
The Alystic Vocal Class was or¬
ganized on the third Sunday in last
month. Air. James M. Bussell was
elected chorister, Mr. T. A. Bussell
secretary and Air. Sam Wilcox treas¬
ures. Success to the class.

The pig was only about twice as
large as a baseball, yet he devoured
fourteen biddies. Whereupon the
good wife, bis owner, gave him a
powerful beating, lifted him out of
the pen and said: “Go! and never

Air. W. L. Ivellett, who assisted
Mr. J. W. McFaraara in the depot
at this place for several months, is
now agent at Ochvvalkee, on the
main line of the G. «fc A. Master
Gus HavdemaD, of Rochell, is now
assisting Air. McNamara.

The Kissimmee school will close
the 18th of Alay, with an entertain¬
ment at night. Capt. Richard Luke,
of Lenox, will be here to act as
clown, and that is enough to say
that there will be an enjoyable time
for all who attend.
Through the rainy season some of
our most energetic young men went
0,lt hunting and killed nine possums
and five hares in less time than an
hour.
Berrien county is blessed with
candidates, there being twenty-two
who passed through our section in
two weeks.
Drowned out cotton and grassy
com is the subject, mostly discussed
in our settlement.
Some few cases of la grippe are
reported in our community for the
last two weeks.

Insane.
Goodman, Ga., Alay 7.—Satur¬
day morning last farmer Jesse Bry¬
ant, becoming suddenly insane, left
home in a run toward Alapaha river.
Soon afterwards he was found sit¬
ting in a boat crying. horrified He was taken
home and seemed at the ar¬
rival of a neighbor, which fact caused
him to cut a gash in his own throat.
His windpipe is cut half in twain.
He is in a deplorable condition, be¬
ing badly wounded, as well as a rav¬
ing maniac.
Later.— rMr. Bryant was taken
to Irwinville Monday, where Dr.
Julian examined him. Not being
satisfied that he was crazy, the Dr.
requested that he be placed in jail
for a week, where he could visit him
daily.
The ladies of the Methodist church
will give a musical entertaiment and
ice cream festival at the academy
Saturday night, May 18th, for the
benefit of the Methodist church.
These good ladies have undertaken
to raise a certain amount of money
j toward church, and remodeling have adopted the Methodist this plan
