At the annual meeting of the
stockholders of the Bank of Ocilla
Wednesday, the old officers were
complimented with re-election.
Mr. W. E. Puckett, of near Car
torsville, father of our Mr. Thos. B.
Puckett, cashier of the Bunk of
Ocilla, visited his son Wednesday.
Miss Bertha Molnnis, who spent
part of the holidays with her sister,
Mrs. J. II. Powell, in Ocilla, re¬
turned to her home in Jasper, Fla.,
Wednesday.
There is already a good deal of
talk about the election two years
hence. Suppose we let that rest
for a year or so. It is too early to
wrangle about offices.

to rebuild their saw mill, which
was recently burned at Ashburn.
The new mill will be built, about
two miles front Ashburn.
A change went into effect in the
schedule of the Georgia Southern
shoo-fly train Sunday. The north
bound passes Tilton at Did,; the

Luke & Clements Returned from
St. Louis, Mo., with 'a big. lot of
horses and mules Tuesday. They
were unloaded at Fitzgerald Tues¬
day night.
The official census gives Fitzger¬
ald a population of 1,817. The
1537th district, including the city,
has a population of 2 515. But,
then, census enumerators do not
always give the exact population.

The public installation of

Mr. Jas. J. Paulk who lives
five miles east of Ocilla,is preparing
to have built for himself one of the

It is amusing to see the little
shafts someof our contemporaries
are hurling at Mr. Bryan and Mr.
Cleveland, according to their pol¬
itical beliefs. Brothers, we have
much to learn, politically as well as
otherwise.

At the residence of the bride’s
parents, in Atlanta, on Wednesday
last, Rev. M, L. Lawson, of Ocilla,'
officiating, Miss DeliaSinrraons and
Mr. McD. Bruce, of this place,
were married. The happy young
couple reached home Thursday
morning. Mr, Bruce, handsome,
genial, warm-hearted’ and full of
energy, numbers his friends by the
hundreds, and now that he has won
a charming bride,' nothing seems
lacking to make his life an ideal

Col. Mercer, of the Fitzgerald
Enterprise, met with a serious
accident week before last
by getting his right hand caught
between the cylinder and a form of
type while the newspaper press was :
in motion. While the accident is a
very serious one, yet we hope the

maimed.
The annual meeting of the stock¬
holders of the Bank of Ocilla was
held in the Bank Wednesday, and
the showing made was satisfactory
to the stockholders. They declared
that the cashier’s statement was
highly complimentary to the presi
j dent, Mr. J. H. Powell, and to the
; cashier, Mr. 1 . 1>. Puckett, and to
show their appreciation, presented

dent, while Capt. Ben Drew pre¬

Tuesday Capt. Nas Henderson,
while looking on where rails were
being split on his farm near town,
came near being killed by a falling
limb. A tree was being out down,

back a few paces. The top of the
falling tree struck another tree, and
a broken limb about five feet long
