attracts universal attention
wherever lie goes by his niu< h

itive and deliberate manner of
his speaking He is out in the

safe to say that when he finish¬

Our new Solicitor Capt. W.
T KituSey, seems to have
walked right into the good fel¬
lowship and esteem of our
people. He is always a liable
and winning in his manner and
our people are highly suscepti¬
ble to such admirable charac¬
teristics. Wo have known him
a long time and we can assure
our readets that as they find
him to-day so also will he be to¬
morrow .
Judge Candler is making a
record for himself. It required
him about 80 minutes to organ¬
ize his court and get down to
work last Monday morning.
We believe ho is the speedi¬
est on record. Hfs charge to
the grand jury has been highly
by the
generally and the manner in
which he has pushed the busi¬
ness of the court has elicited
only words of commendation.
Norris Hale's friends are sore¬
ly disappointed because of his
withdrawal from the legislative
race. He had no avowed oppo¬
sition up to the time of his
withdrawal and came out sim¬
ply in consideration for his
health and the wishes of his
family. His affliction is a
complicated one and at times so
severe as to rpnder him perfect¬
ly uoconscious. He is now out
of the race and will spend his
time quietly at home with his
family and friends, at least un¬
til his health improves.
Col. A. C- Perry looks quite
natural in Conyers. He is here
this week attending our court.
For many years he was a citi
zan of Conyers and now as he
leisurely walks into the court¬
room it is with a familiar tread
that indicates long familiarity
with surroundings. Those who
once reside here never forget
the town or its people.
