Dr. Slew;, t, your stale sen¬

doctor is a grand old gentleman

Election in Georgia.
r j} le election in. Georgia,
c0ui p a ,. et ] t 0 fovbier times when
our people were urrted, was
close. The Bryan and Sewall
tick el received a majority of
twenty-odd thousand. The
popr’i-t having no ticket in
bis; stale voted with the re
publicans, or remained away
Rom the polls. It is gratify
ingtollio genuine democracy
of the state, however, that with
every disgruntled element and
every opposing party in Geor¬
gia to fight, democracy is still
triumphant and will so remain
so long as t-lfis is a state and so
long as free and liberty-loving
people are allowed to cast their
ballots.
One thing the election has
demonstrated beyond a doubt
is that populism has passed
away or rather it has merged
into republicanism. In the
future the political battles in
Geo-gia will be waged between
the two parties and we will be
rid of the everlasting political
strife between next-door neigh¬
bors whose interests are iden¬
tical and whose votes should be
likewise.
