School Board Elects.
The public school board met
Monday night for the purpose
of electing au assistant to Prof.
Stark, to fill the vacancy caus¬
ed by the resignation of Prof.
Pitner. The result of this meet¬
ing was all that the people
could ask, in that prof. R.A.
Guinn was elected to the posi¬
tion. A better man tor the
ace could not have been found
and the people congratulate the
Board upon its wisdom in se¬
lecting him.
Prof. Guinn has been notified
of his election and we hope that
he may see his way clear to ac¬
cept.
The fruits of this gentleman’s
labor in the school room in
Conyers lives to honor him
throughout this state and we
have no hesitancy in saying
that as an educator he stands
in the front rank.

Mr. J. F Mitchell, of Knob,
came in yesterday and paid his
subscription and we forthwith

our taxes. We can get two

campaign and we will be just

of people trading here yesterday.
The holiday trade has been
immense in Conyers and will
likely increase in volume to-day.
Howard Turner was absent
from the city last Sunday.

It is generally accepted as true
that he was seeking the pres¬

sermon at the Methodist church

Almand deserves about as much
praise as Almand in this
