DRILL YOUR WHEAT
I have purchased a Grain Drill and propose to operate it for
the benefit of the public, For 75 cents per aero I will put in
your Wheat and Oats together with the fertilizer. I have al¬
ready quite a number of customers on my list and would be glad
to have others call on me and make engagements.
First Com, First Serai!
I can only put in Commercial fertilizers through my ma
chine. Sell vour cotton seed at the high prices and buy a high
grade Acid Phosphate. $2 worth of High Grade Acid on an
acre put in with a drill will make you more Wheat than $4
of cotton seed. If this does not turn out right it is my treat. I
insist on you giving me a trial. It will pay you.
Very Truly,
8. E. BKODN AX.

Farmer’s Club.
In pursuance to a call,
of the farmers near by met at
Oak Grove Academy last Satur¬
day night and temporarily or¬
ganized a Farmer’s Progressive
and Co-operative Club for mu¬
tual benefit.
The farmers of the surround
ing country are cordially and
pressingly invited to meet with
us next Saturday night, Oct-
13th, 7 p. m., for the purpose
of establishing a permanent or¬
ganization .

To the Farmers of
Rockdale.
In what way should we sow
on i-grain in order to get the best
results? countries who grow and
furnish to the world the largest
bulk of the grain; and who are
by far more successful along
this line than ourselves, drill
their wheat and oats instead of
scattering broadcast over the
ground as we do •
Why do they go to the expense
and trouble of buying and oper¬
ating machinery? I answer be¬
cause the results are more remu¬
nerative and more satisfactory,
Why wouldn’t it be veil for us,
if there is any advantage in
farming, one method over anoth
er? Why shouldn’t Rockdale
enjoy these advantages?
I ask the farmers to think
over this and urge them to wake
up to the times. Give more at¬
tention to the cultivation ofgrain
and speed the wheel of prosper¬
ity that is turning in our favor.
Turn your land and have your
wheat and oats drilled • I be¬
lieve it will pay you- Try it.
Very Truly,
S • E. Brodnax.

How Happiness Comes.
Success and happiness in life
is to accept our lot and to be con
tent with what we have and not
bo continually reaching out for
what we cannot get. The hap
[jiest men and women on earth
are ikose who think they have
the best husbands and wives,
Their little vine covered cottage
nestling among the hills where
the birds and flowers live, are
belter than palaces; and their
freckle-faced barefooted boys sit¬
on the banks of the creek
fishing for mnd cats, are greater
than princes: and the girls bare¬
footed mountain beauties that
they are. are sweeter and grand
er and nobler than princesses.
