Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Hudson,

children and Mr. E. M. Hudson
spent Monday at McDanie'l’s null
on Yellow river. They had a very
pleasant time but caught very few
fish.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wood, <f
Winder, came to Conyers Sunday
and went up to Rock Chapel camp
meeting. Their children remain¬
ed here with their grand mother,
Mrs. Carle Wood.
Mr. Noon Hudson and sister,
Miss Ruby, of Atlanta, spent some
time with their grand parents, Mr.
and Mrs. D. N. Hudson, this week.
Mr M. C. Summers, the popu¬
lar salesman of the McCord-Stew
art Grocery Co., is here with his
family for a two months vacation.
Mr. D. N. Hudson went over to
Salem, in Sheffield district, last
Tuesday. He was one among the
number to gather there that day
to clean off the burying ground.

Messrs. Plunket & Almand have
put in a new boiler at their Roller
Flouring mill. Several days were
required to complete the work but
it is now finished and the mill is
running both day and night.

occurred at the Methodist church at
this place Wednesday morning, the

ery respect one of the tenderest and
sweetest that ever occurred here.
The church was lavishly and

dows a scene of loveliness was

The marrriage of Miss Lolla
Driskill Posey and Mr. Thos Mel
ton Ross, occurred at the home of
the bride’s parents in this city last
Monday afternoon, at 5 o’clock,
in the presence of only a few rela¬
tives and triends.
The matriage ceremony was per¬
formed in a beautiful and iinpres
sive mnnner by Judge A. M.
Helms.
The bride is the accomplished
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W
Posey, and Jias many friends here
and over the state. She is a grad¬
uate of Young Harris.
The groom is a native Georgian
but for several years past has
mad i his home in Colorado, ^ here
he is interested in mining.
The happy couple left on the 7
o,clock train, enrotite for Colora¬
do, where they will reside in fu¬
ture.

it is thought Mr. Grier Allen is
dying at his father’s home at Oak
Grove. He has been sick with
fever for some time and his case
took an unfavorable turn to-uay.
A protracted meeting is being
conducted at Rockdale church.
Rev. JM DeFoor, the paster is
conducting the services.
Rev. Mr. Troutman has been as¬
sisting Rev. Mack Bakes in a meet
ing at Snapping Shoals this week.

is thought to be fatally ill with

J M Mitcham’s Literary schools
at The Hall, at Princeton on
Thursday, tne 15th of this month.
Prof. Mitcham taught schools in
that community for a number of
and this will be the occasion
of the coming together of as many
of his old students as possible.
Many of them still reside in easy
reach of Princeton and will be Oil
hand that day to meet their senool
fellows of former days anu shake
hands once more. Prof, Mitcham
is now an old man and will great¬
ly enjoy meeting his pupils of
long ago. That a great time is an¬
ticipated is evidenced by the fact
that 500 pounds of beef will be
made into hasn besides the basket
dinner to follow. A general invi¬
tation is extended. Speeches will
be made by several prominent
men.
