the death of his brother, Mr. Jno.

Mr. Robt. Livingston came

tarium Sunday morning and was

are making good progress in rais¬
ing funds for bailding anew church
house. We are informed that the
building committee have decided
to start the work of building as
soon as they can secure lumber.

The marriage of Mr. J. It. White
and Miss Bessie White occurred
at the home of the bride's mother
in’Honey Creek distrot lust Sun¬
day evening at 8 o’clock, Rev. J.
F. Wallis officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Randal White and is a most esti¬
mable young lady.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mr8. Cuger White and is a young
man of industry and moral worth.

MR. D. C. MYERS, DEAD.
The death Mr. D. C. Myers oc
lured at his home in Sheffield dis¬
trict last Sunday morning. Mr,
Myers was 08 years of age at the
time of his death, and thoso who
knew him best say that his life
was one of duty well done. lie
lived a model life before his fellow
men. He was a member of the
85th Confederate regiment and
made a soldier that his comrades
in arms admired and prized. He
was a consistent member of the
Baptist church for 85 years, living
his faith, meeting all obligation*
and discharging them faithfully.
He was truly a good man, citi¬
zen, friend, husband and father,
and will be missed sadly.
The funeral service was conduc¬
ted at Bethel church last Monday
by Rev. W. T. Granade, after
which the remains were laid to
rest in Bethel burying ground.
The deceased is survived by a
sorrowing wife and children who
have the sincere sympathy of
many friends.
Mr. Tom Malcom, of Atlanta,
has been here this week with his
parents.
Joe Scott, col., who lives on Mr.
G. W Warren’s place, sent into
our office recently' a stalk of cane
that measured 18 feet, It
