The Sylvania Telephone
paints a gloomy picture of
Screven county conditions.
The farmers of that county
could not pay out if cotton

crops failed there this year

Admmiral Schley, by age
limit, is now on the retired
lis . After a life of faithful
service in the navy, and just
after having completely des¬
troyed the fleet of an enemy,
he goes out in the midst of
an arraignment and trial for
cowardice. Such is his re¬
ward for bravery and devo
tion to duty as presented by
the high officials of the coun¬
try lie loves and for which he
fought. These facts will con
stitute one of the blackest
pages in the history of the U.
S. Navy.
