As people lose innocence

Peace of mind is often the
of not knowing any better,
Applause has hurried many

The more a woman argues
more she is unable to

When a’busy man has a
ments leisure he does some
kind of work.
The older a woman grows
safer it is to intrust a secret to
keeping.
A man’s ingenuity doesn’t
him out of half the trouble it gets
him into.
The difference between courage
and foolhardiness is determined, by
results.
Contentment is always perched
on the round of the ladder just
above you.
A woman never knows her own
mind until she want’s something
she can’t get.
Opportunity takes a mean ad¬
vantage of most people by going
around disguised.
The man who knows it all is
fit companion for the woman who
knows nothing.

Unfortunate Quotations.
The first issue of Perry Heath’s
new afternoon paper in Balt Lake
City, the Telegram, appeared a
few’ evenings ago. Among the ar¬
ticles which enlivened its columns
was a complimentary sketch of
Senator Kearnes, says the Wash¬
ington Post. In the course of the
tribute to the Senator’s ability;
the writer indulged in the scriptu¬
ral phrase which says:
He that is diligent in business
shall stand before kings.
The quotations were all right in
the manuscript, but when it ap¬
peared iii print it read:
He than is diligent in business
shall stand by four kings.
The rival newspaper lias been
having a good deal of fun at Sen¬
ator Kearn’s expense and it has
even suggested that if the Senator
had to get his poker knowledge out
of the Bible he had bettek come
home at once.
