IN MEMOKY
Of bisior Annie Miers, (nee
Skelton) vvJio was born in Newton
county, Jaii. 20, .1878, joined Sa¬
lem Baptist church by experience
July 28, 1895; was married to Bro.
Kobt. iMiers May 20. 1901; fell
asleep iu Jesus Dec. 18,1901.
Having known sister Annie from
her infancy we feel safe in saving
that we formed a highly exalted
opinion of Jmr Christian charac¬
ter and that we cannot overesti¬
mate her worth or imitate her ex¬
ample too closely. She was be¬
loved by all who knew her She
lowed her companions and asso¬
ciates; she loved her family; she
loved her Sunday school and
church, to both of which she was
ever faithful, but best of all she
loved her Savior.
We deeply mourn our loss which
we feel is her glorious ana eternal
gain.
A seal wbh us is vacant made;
A voice wo loved is hushed and gone,
But the sweet, Christian, spirit lin¬
gers still
To cheer us and brighten our journey
on.
Therefore be it resolved by the
church in conference, that we
in humble submission to the will
of Him that doeth all things right.
Resolved 2nd, That these
lutions bespread on our church
book and that a page be 1 ft blank
to her memory.
Resolved 8rd. That a copy of
these resolutions be sent to the
j>aper for publication and that the
chairman of this committee fur¬
nish the family and husband a
copy of the tame.
