A Marietta immigrant was
arrested Saturday, Dec. 6 at
8:12 a.m. after he apparently
got drunk, passed out behind
the wheel on 1-75 and lied
about his name and date of
birth.
A Monroe County EMT
was traveling south on 1-75
when she noticed a Nissan in
the emergency lane near mile
marker 195 with the driver
slumped over the wheel. The
EMT found him passed out
in the driver’s seat with the
motor running.
There was a strong odor of
alcohol coming from the sus
pect and he swayed as he
walked. He tested positive for
alcohol. He had no ID and
didn’t speak English. A trans
lator at the jail got his name,
Wilfro Ayala, and age, 20. He
was charged with DUI and
driving without a license.
A fingerprint check through
the FBI found his name was
actually Olegario Lucas
Ramos and his original date
of birth was incorrect. Ramos
had written the wrong name
on a piece of paper for the
translator. Ramos said he
had been arrested in Cobb
County for simple assault
and had lied to Davis
because he was sleepy.
The Forsyth Police
Department reported the
following incidents Nov. 22-
30:
Just had
one beer?
At 11:11 p.m. on Nov. 22
police stopped a car on 1-75
north for going 88 mph.
The driver had an open 12
pack of Budweiser beer in
the front passenger floor
board and there was a
strong smell of alcoholic
beverage coming from the
driver even though he was
smoking a cigarette. He
said he was on his way to
Atlanta and had consumed
a beer. The driver tested
positive for alcohol and was
arrested. He blew a .132
during the breathalyzer
test and was charged with
speeding and DUI.
Just had one
beer...oops,
OK maybe two
At 9:14 p.m. on Nov. 29
Officer Devane stopped a
Chevrolet van on 1-75
southbound for going 83
mph. The van had also
been weaving in and out of
heavy traffic in the rain.
There was an odor of alco
hol coming from the car.
The driver said he had only
consumed one beer while
he was in Kentucky and
was on his way to Florida.
He had slurred speech, red,
watery eyes and kept
repeating himself. He said
he didn’t have any open
containers in the car, but
upon exiting an empty, cold
24 oz. can of Steel Reserve
fell on the ground. The sus
pect was unsteady on his
feet and slightly swayed
from side to side as he
walked. He failed sobriety
tests and was arrested for
DUI. Another empty 22 oz.
bottle of Steel Reserve was
found in the car. At the
Monroe County Jail, the
driver blew a .135 and .132
during the breathalyzer
test.
Hit and run
on 1-75
At 3:58 p.m. on Nov. 29
Officer Brown was dis
patched to Cheves Road in
reference to a complainant
who said she had been
involved in a hit and run
earlier that day. She said
Incidents
she had been traveling up
the 187 southbound on
ramp when the car behind
her began trying to pass
her on the shoulder of the
ramp. She said the car
then went around her and
hit her car, knocking the
grill off the front of her
Jeep. She thought the car
that struck her was a Red
Dodge Intrepid. She
thought the county on the
license plate began with
the letter B but couldn’t get
any other information.
Boss wiring him
money to fill up?
At 3:51 p.m. on Nov. 30
Officer Brittian saw a trac
tor trailer blocking the
middle of Hwy. 83. Brittian
asked the driver when he
was going to move the
truck and the man said he
was waiting on his boss to
wire him some money for
fuel. After about an hour,
Brittian told the man that
his truck was going to be
towed. At this time, a
wrecker was called and the
man was asked for I.D. It
turned out the man was
wanted in Conyers. He was
arrested for violation of
probation and transported
to the Monroe County Jail.
The Monroe County
Sheriffs office reported the
following incidents Dec. 5-
10:
Aggressive driver
causes 1-75 wreck
At 4:25 p.m. on Dec. 5 a
complainant said he had
been traveling on 1-75 the
day before when another
car had forced him out of
his lane. The victim said he
was on the Rumble Road
southbound on ramp when
a car merged into his lane,
causing him to swerve into
the second lane and hit a
tractor trailer. He said
none of the cars involved
stopped at the scene and
police were not called to
investigate. Damage was
visible on the left side of
the victim’s car.
With friends like
this, who needs
enemies?
At 2:51 a.m. on Dec. 6
Cpl. Brown was dispatched
to Juliette Road in refer
ence to a woman vandaliz
ing a house. A complainant
said her friend had thrown
the trash all over the
kitchen while cursing at
her in front of her children.
The victim said her friend
was upset because she had
called to say that the sus
pect’s boyfriend had thrown
beer at her and threatened
to hurt her. The boyfriend,
who had already left the
scene, was wanted by the
Forsyth Police Dept. He
was later arrested. The vic
tim had asked Cpl. Brown
to call her if they found the
man, because she was
afraid he might return and
try to hurt her. When
Brown called the woman,
he could hear the female
suspect screaming profani
ty at the victim. Brown
returned to the house and
arrested the suspect for
disorderly conduct.
$800 stolen from
woman’s account
At 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 9
Deputy Leggett was dis
patched to Stokes Store
Road in reference to theft.
The complainant said she
had tried to withdraw
money from her bank
account earlier in the day
and noticed there were
insufficent funds in her
account. The victim said
she then contacted her
bank and was told there
was no money left in her
account. The bank told her
the debit card number had
been used by someone else
for a number of unautho
rized purchases. The victim
said there was about $800
missing from the account.
The woman’s debit card
was cancelled and she said
she was supposed to
receive a fax from her bank
with further instructions.
Tree falls on trac
tor trailer
At 2:34 p.m. on Dec. 10
Deputy Leggett was dis
patched to the rest area on
1-75 southbound in refer
ence to a tree falling on a
man’s car. The complainant
said he was trying to enter
the rest area when a tree
on the side of the road fell
on his Crete Carrier tractor
trailer. The trailer was
towed by Buice wrecker
and the department of
transportation was called
to remove the tree.

Special to the
Reporter
On Saturday, Dec. 6
during the Bolingbroke
Christmas Parade, a
young (very young) Cau
casian male identified as
Colton Lee McDonald,
aged 4, of Lorraine
Woods Subdivision, was
seemingly driving DUI.
Mr. McDonald was
observed driving his
vehicle, a very small
heavily decorated 2006
Jeep Hurricane, errati
cally, weaving from one
side of the parade route
to the other, speeding up
and slowing down, even
runing into his cousin,
Hannah Shuman, in her
purple go-kart. Mr.
McDonald was also
observed littering the
roadside with what
looked like candy wrap
pers.
Following the parade,
Mr. McDonald was ques
tioned about his behav
ior but as four-year olds
often do, he crossed his
arms over his chest, low
ered his head and
refused to talk. His
breath was then checked
and found to smell like
both Tootsie Rolls and
peppermint sticks with a
hint of Chick-Filet
nuggets and Krystal
hamburgers. Mr.
McDonald was eventual
ly charged with DUICS
(driving under the influ
ence of the Christmas

Spirit), HGT (having a
good time), TCCMV
(throwing Christmas
candy from a Moving
Vehicle), BCLF (being a
cute little fellow) and
DWL (driving without a
license- only because
the State Patrol wouldn’t
let him take the test, he
explained.)
After Mr. McDonald,
aka “scooter,” “sweet
pea,” “doodle-bug,” and
“snickerdoodle,” after he
promised to be in next
year’s Christmas parade,
was allowed to plead No
Contest and Guilty as
Charged, and was given
into protective custody of
his parents, Alison and
Ronald McDonald of
Bolingbroke, and his
maternal grandmother,
Shelly Shuman of
Forsyth.
His car decorator,
Granddaddy Mike King,
was very disappointed

when Colton and his car
were not among the
Reporter’s parade pic
tures last week. Shame
on you, Will Davis. (Mr.
Davis is the parttime
photographer and some
times claims to be editor
of the Reporter.)
To set the record
straight, Mr. McDonald
clearly stated that he is
almost 4 1/2 years old
and was wearing his
seat belt. He further
stated that he is no kin
to Old McDonald, the
farmer, or that hamburg
er clown Ronald
McDonald, despite his
father’s name.
He also issued a special
thank you to parade
organizer Vicki Smith for
allowing hinm to be part
of a great 2008
Bolingbroke Christmas
Parade.
