The childrens cakewalk Thursday
evening was (he attractive feature of the
week at Tybee. Tni* entertainment, which
was managed by Mrs. Jacob Lippman,
wrtth the able assistance of Mr. Black,
was the hit of the season, proving a source
of delighted amusement to the hundreds
of fun-seeking people, who wire fortunate
enough to witness it. Even the merry
makers. who had gone down to Tybee for
the Tnursdaj evening dance, were glad
enough to forego, for a while, their own
geyety while they watched the tiny cake
walker*. The children were bubbling over
with excitesn ent, long before the
first notes of the grand march summoned
them to the pavilion, ar.d at each fresh lit
tle face with its coat of black and each
comical little figure in its odd attire that
appeared in the hotel corridor, there was
e new burst of applause. Little Master
Charles Graham Boughn, who took the
cake and who headed the prooesslon with
h.a tiny partner. Mis. Hattie Uimburger.
is a mere tot of three or four years, but
nothing could have been finer than his
babv imitation of the negro cakewadt.

Lieut. Friedrich von Hagen and Mrs.
von Hagen, who will he remembered as
Miss Roberta Reitze of Savannah, were
guests rot long sines at a delightful gar
den party at Kiel, given at the Castle,
by Prince and Princess Henry, in honor
of their brother, the Kaiser. Lieut, von
Hagen, who had been contemplating a
pleasure cruise in South American waters
lately, received orders to China, and left
for that country on the first of July.
During the week there were several lit
tle jpformal supper parties at Thunder
bolt. In one of these Tuesday where Mr.
and Mrs. Louis M. LeHardy, Mr. and
Mrs. Wright Hunter, Mr. J. Florande
Minis, Mr. C. A. Bliearon, and Mr. Leo
pold Alexander.
In another party on Ihe same evening,
were Dr. and Mrs. B. R. Corson, Mies
Baker of New Orleans, Dr. and Mrs
John D. Paige, and Dr. J O. Van Mar-'
ter, Jr.
Mr. Paul T. Haskell, Mr. Lewis Has
kell. and Miss Elizabeth Haskell, will
leave shortly, for White Sulphur Springs.

Mrs. William Garrard has returned from
a three-weeks' stay In Asheville.

Avery congenial marooning party en
joyed a river trip during the week as Mr.
Lloyd Owens’ guests on the Hornet. They
were Mr. Paul T. Haskell. Jr., Mr. Clar
ence Connerat. Jr., Mr. Lewis Haskell,
Jr . Mr. Horry Daniel. Jr., and blaster
Owen Daniel. The chief objective point
was Bluffion, where a brief but delight
ful visit was made. •
Maj. T. D. Bertody left Tuesday for the
North. After a short stay in New York.
MaJ. Bertody will visit hi* sister at
Jamestown. R 1., returning to Savannah
about the middle of August.
Mrs J. G. Van Marter, who has been
most of the summer at her old home in
Tacormi. Wash is new with a smail party
of friends traveling in Alaska. They will
make a two-weeks' trip along the coast,
going as far north as Glacier, gay, .md
Mount St. Elias.

part of the week at her mother's home in

ham Barney, Jr., and Master William
Pope Barney, went to Virginia Monday.
During July they will visit relatives at
Toresi Depot near the Peaks of Otter,
and will pass August in Glasgow county,
about two miles from the Natural Bridge,
visiting other places of interest In Sep
tember. They will return to the city about
the first of October.
Mr. Mills B. Lane, after a month or

Little Miss Addle Keith, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Keith, entertained a few
of her many friends, in a most delight
ful manner last Thursday afternoon,
from 5 to 7. the occasion, being her ninth
birthday. The parlors were beautifully
decorated with cut roses and vines, and
with the bright, happy faces of the little
ones, presented a lovely picture Indeed

pink organdy and received her little guest
in a most charming manner. Games end
