B. Merritt Thursday morning for the
purpose of devising « plan by which
certain funds are to be distributed
looking to an Improvement of achoola
In Georgia, particularly rural schools.
One of the most prominent educa-
tors of the South. President Edward
A. Altjerman. of the University of Vir
ginia, and general supervisor of the
Bout hern educational board, attend
ed the meeting und conferred with Its
membere on educational mattere.
The funds in the hands of the cam*
paign committee are smaller than usual
this year und the allotments to the
different Institutions will bu much
smaller an a consequence. School
commissioners of different counties In
the state were also in the conference.
The members of the campaign com
mittee are David (’. Harrow. AVarren A.
Candler, Hoke Smith, governor-elect;

sioner; ex-Governor \V. J. Nor then and
M. L. Duggan.

TO BE AUCTIONED
The prison commlrlon will sell the
balance of the state's cotton crop, about
250 bales, next week at auction. They

murder of Dr. Robert H. Aldrich, this
morning filed a motion to quart) the
Indictment brought by the grand Jury
against their client, that body being
alleged to be a dissolved body for fall
ing to meet on November 1.1. 1906, a*
ordered by the court on October 20,
1906. and that J. A. Rhaffett. a member.
Is disqualified, being unable i » read
and write the English language, r.s in
quired by law.
The motion also affects several other
uses Indicted by the same grand Juiy.
The motions will be heard on Hatur-
day morning next at the opening of the
court.

Marble Company, of Marietta, (la. It

tor to complete the figure.
