CAPTAIN PEARSON WRITES
POE 7R Y IN IDLE HOURS
English Prisoner Turns
To Pencil for
Comfort.
t ——
Captain John Pearson, the former
British army officer, now serving a
term of six months In the Tower on the
charge of wholesale cheating and
swindling In Atlanta, has added a new
i feature to his repertoire. He has turned
poet—just to while away the time be

One of hie poems, which has been
circulated among the prisoners for their
Amusement, Is as follows:
Thera Is a place of pure delight,
Where you get tun, both day and night,
Both from the nigger and the white,
Called Pulton county jail.
The concerts they have there are grand,
They can't be heat throughout the land,
They do not want for any band
In Pulton county jail.
They feed them there upon the best—
Both In the North, East, South and
And there you can get plenty of rest.
In Fulton county jail.
Tou get your board and lodging free,
And oh! It', a delight to see
The way the lodgers do agree
In Fulton county Jail. *
The men they are all here for naught.
For crime there's not one could have
wrought, .
They are so good they couldn't be
bought.
In Fulton county Jail.
And oh! how good they, seem to be-
Thoy'ro singing hymns In melody,
All through the day and night so free,
In Fulton county jail.
