add another room, cool and shady, to the house where
you may enjoy every refreshing breeze, in secluded com
fort.
Vudor Porch Shades are made of thin, flat strips of
Linden Wood Fibre, closely bound by strong Seine
Twine, in a lock-stitch weave.
Another good feature about them is the peculiar
fact that those sitting on the porch can see out, but pass-
ersby can not see in. In other words, you have complete
privacy, and can use the porch or veranda (he same as
an inside room, with infinitely more comfort on hot days.
Vudor Porch Shades should not be confused with
ordinary porch screens—canvas curtains or bamboo
shades, for instance.
Canvas curtains shut out the sun, it is true, but as
they likewise completely prevent the circulation of air,
the porch becomes an oven.
It is like sitting in a tent with the sun beating down
upon it. They also spoil the neat appearance of a porch.
Bamboo screens afford practically no protection.
On account of the narrow, irregular strips used, and the .
thick cords employed to hold them together, the sun’s
rays find easy entrance through the cracks.
This defect also permits people on the outside to
.gaze in, and there is no privacy behind a screen'of this
character.
Bamboo Screens usually turn black in a few weeks.
In an effort to prevent this, they are sometimes paint
ed with a thick, cheap paint, which is anything but at
tractive, and they, one and all, quickly present an ir
regular, ragged appearance at both ends.
The only really staisfactory shades are the Vudor,
which throw the porch into cool, mellow shadow, with
out making it too dark for practical use, and still exclud
ing the sun’s scorching beams, at the same tunc permit
ting perfect circulation of the summer breeze.

And the Rugs
And the practical Porch Rug is something durable, light, artistic in color
scheme, inexpensive and novel in weave.
Each of these we mention here embody all these summer rug qualities.
“Crex” Rugs—the woven grass rugs. “Moonje” Rugs—a genuine East India
production in typical India coloring and designs.
“Fiber” Rugs—that resemble in patterns the more elaborate Jap mattings.
Vudor Hammocks
Vudor Hammocks arc made.to overcome the faults of the ordinary hammock.
The cords in the old style hammock are fastened directly to the frail “body warps,”
which soon break from the strain. The Vudor way gives permanent strength, be
cause the cords are fastened direct to a sturdy Rock Elm spreader. These ham
mocks will doubly outlast ordinary hammocks.
