Washington, Oa., May 3.—Clyde
llaynle, a school boy about seventeen
years old and son of Dr. W. L. Haynle,
of* this county, was accidently cut In
the arm Wednesday evening during the
progrcaa of the commencement exer-
cisea at Tignall which severed an ur-
t tery nnd tho young man came near
bleeding to death.
The young man was representing the
villain In a play and In order to have
hla continue as suggestive ns possible
of the character he was to portray,
young llaynle secured hla father'a dis
secting knife and placed It In hlff belt,
blade upward. In stooping over for
something the sharp blade of the knife
penetrated his arm Just below the el
bow. severing the artery. The accident
came near causing the exercises to be
terminated abruptly as several ladles
In the audience fainted at the sight of
the blood, but order was restored, and
when It was learned that Haynles
wound would not prove fatal, the play
progressed with u substitute acting the
part of the injured boy.
