Rose Curry To Be the
Leading Woman in
Stock Company.
George Fawcett has bestowed the ut
most care and attention upon the selec
tion of the company which he will pre
sent in Atlanta for in UMMai^t m*
gagement, beginning with “The Hen
rietta" Monday evening. May 27, at the
Grand opera house. With the end in
view of making this one of the strong
est and best companies playing outside
of New York, Mr. Fawcett has called In
from “the road" many of his best-
knowfi contemporaries.
There are several men In the com
pany who are well fitted to play the
leading masculine roles. Regan Hugh-
ston is a handsome young actor, and
qufte a favorite In the cities In which
he has played. He has been with Olga
Nethersole, Julia Marlowe, E. IX. So-
thorn, and previous to joining the Faw
cett Company played a prominent part
In David Relasco's all-star cast of
“The Heart of Maryland." Brandon
Hurst Is an eminent English actor, but
has played in this country for some
years.
It may be mentioned that he originat
ed the character of Lord Fancourt Bab-
berley In “Charley's Aunt," and in this
role gave an exceedingly artistic piece
of work, lie was for some time leading
man for Mrs. Flake, and has also been
seen with the late Roland Reed, Amelia
Bingham, and more recently In “The
Squaw Man" Company and with Law-
rence D’Orsay In “The Embassy Ball."
Both he und Mr. Hughston will be seen
to excellent advantage during the first
two weeks In "The Henrietta" und
•'Friends."
The leading woman of the company
Is Miss Rose Curry, a brilliant Cali
fornia actress, who will be best remem
bered in the star part of “Way Down
East." Miss Ethel Conroy, who will
also play prominent parts, comes of a
well-known theatrical family, and be
sides being one of the most beautiful
women on the stage, she has a rare de
gree of dramatic talent. Her last en
gagement was playing a prominent part
in “The Muslc,Master." of which David
Warfield Is the star, and which played
In New York for three seasons to pack
ed houses. Miss Phyllis and Miss Grace
Sherwood are charming pc tresses whom
Mr. Fawcett believes are sure to wlr
their way Into the hearts of the the
atergoers of this city.
Stuart Beebe and Ilurr Caruth hav»
both had long experience on the stagi
under the best management. Then
are four of the old favorites of thf
former Fawcett dbmpany, Allen Faw
cett, Frank Craven. DcWltt Jennlngt-
and George Schrader, who are assured
of a hearty welcome on their return.

perfected a plan whereby music Is t»
