ICE CREAM FESTIVAL.
The ladles of the Edgewood Baptist
church will give an ice cream festival
Tuesday from 5 to 11 p. m., at Juok-
son’s grove, Mayson avenue, opposite
the Edgewood postofllce. The proceeds
will be applied to the new church build
ing. now in course of erection, und
the public Is cordially Invited to be
present.
MR8. MARY HARRIS ARMOR AT
MEMORIAL CHURCH 8UNDAY.
Every word of Mrs. Armor's ad
dress to the women Sunday afternoon
at Wesley Memorial ehurch struck
home with telling effect. She advised
them to leave intoxicants severely
alone, and told them alcohol was a
poison pure and simple.
Rev. Mr. Parks, chaplain of the
house of representatives, spoke of the
dangers which confronts the boy from
the country when he comes to a city,
and Illustrated It by repeating his own
experience In Atlanta when this city
was only a few years old.
The chairman requested all those
who wished to assist in providing lunch
for the legislators next Wednesday to
remain after the meeting closed. A
large number remained and many
promised to send box lunches and oth
ers contributed money to purchase cof
fee and tea, which will be served by a
committee of ladles. Bouquets with
text cards and white ribbons will be
placed with the lunch boxes on the
,desh of friend and foe.
Resolutions were adopted asking the
legislature to give us a state prohibi
tion law* and urging the delegation
from Fulton county especially to vote
for the Hardman-Covlngton bill.
Mrs. Armor urged every woman
present to be at the capitol every morn
ing to testify to their anxiety for the
passage of the measure, which will be
the best way to protect the home from
the inroads of the liquor traffic. Every
woman is requested to send one or
more boxes of lunch to the capitol
Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock and
give them to the committee, who will
be near the door of the hall of the
house of representatives to receive
them. Donations of flowers should be
sent to the homo of Mrs. J. A. Ad
kins, No. 236 Ivy street, who will
make them Into bouquets Tuesday aft
ernoon and take them to the capitol
Wednesday morning. The women ot
Atlanta are expected to crowd the gal
leries on that day, the crowning day
for Georgia, when the legalised liquor
trafllc will be ordered to take Its de
parture to "fresh ilelds and pastures
new," tor "Georgia's going dry.”

Baptist church will hold an Ice cream
festival Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock

A BIRTHDAY PARTY.
The pretty party given by Mr. and
Mrs. White at their home. 293 Windsor
street, commemorative of the eleventh
birthday of their little daughter, Ethel
Mae, was much enjoyed by many young
friends ot the little hostess.
Games were played and refresh
ments were served. Many attractive
presents were received by Miss Ethel
Mae White, and the occasion will long
be remembered by the guests who en
joyed her hospitality.
CROWDS AT~TARRYMOORE.
Wrightsville Beach has been the
popular resort of the Atlantic coast
this season, and Hotel Tarrymoore Is
thronged with a merry crowd of pleas
ure seekers.
Wrightsville Beach abounds In vari
ous attractions, nnd there are diver
sions to suit all fancies. At no point
Is surf bathing liner or more exhilar
ating. The opportunities for sailing,
trolley riding, dancing and in short
having an all around good time are
practically limited only by one’s capac
ity for enjoyment.
The gaieties at Wrightsville Beach
