derberry, 7 years old, was shot while
bravely attempting to protect his aunt,
Mrs. Jane Hogshlre, from a negro high
wayman, on Redgate avenue. The ne
gro demanded Mrs. HngRhlre's purse,
leveling a revolver at her. The boy
stepped In between the man and his
aunt. The negro tired, the ball shat
tering the boy'a right arm. The negro
then grabbed the woman’s purao and
ran, pursued by half a dozen men, but
escape^. *

on South Forsyth street, two bundles
of shingles, some chickens and other
things usually fougd In a dispute be
tween neighboring families. At the
conclusion of the trial. Judge Orr gave
ftome wholesome advice to both parties
and encouraged Mr. Dickson in hts
avowed Intention of building a fence.
