Prohibition Will Aid Negroes.
Decatur, Ale., Dec. 8.—Bishop Wil
liams, of Augusta, Oa., who Is presiding
over the Colored North Alabama con
ference In Decatur, la a strong advocate
of prohibition. Ho la of the opinion
that prohibition would be a great bless-
ing to the negro race.

gian's 115.000 contest, has struck a popular
chord with the many candidates In the cop-
test. More subscriptions and "clubs** were
received Thursday .than for any previous
two days combined, which speaks well for
the plan nnd Its ultimate results. The con
test department was kept busy all day

died at the home of her daughter In

Hart, a brother of Attorney General
Hart, of Georgia. She leaves two eon.
and three daughter.. The funeral took
place today, the Interment being In
