In the German town of New Braun
fels the aaloone have been running wide
open since the founding of the town
In 1*43 until yesterday.
Governor Campbell did not carry out
his threat to send state rangers to San
Antonio and the other towns of the
state where the Sunday doting .law
was being violated. The local authVirl.
ties of the respective counties enforced
the law without outalde aid.
Much Interest centers In ths proba

Common Sense
And a Tablet
Do Away With Dyspepsia, Stom
ach Trouble and Make
Meals a Pleasure.
When your stomach goes on a strike
and mass meetings of Indignation are
held all over your body, then It ts thsr
you should sit up and take notice.
It Is clearly and only a question of
common sense—Is this thing called Dys.
pepsla. Take away, by abuse, over
eating, excesses and high living, the
thlnss which tha stomach heeds and
you have dyspepsia and Indigestion;
then other maladies follow these—this
Is common sense.
The stomach Is willing enough, but
you won’t let It do Its work. Tou take,
away the materials which are so neces
sary for It to use.
Give back these materials and dys
pepsia and Indigestion flee and the
whole machinery of man begins slowly
to move and do Its work.
What the stomach needs Is nerve
force, fluids for Its digestive glands,
nourishment and power. All these ne
cessities it takes from the blood. If
dyspepsia gives nothing Co the blood,
the blood gives nothing to the stomach.
This Is common sense also, pure,
simple and unalloyed.
Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are com
mon sense pressed by high power Into
tablets. In these tablets are powerful
essences which go Into the stomach,
digest food, stop gas-making, prevent
decaying of food, enrich the gastric
Juices, are absorbed by the blood and
thus give It strength to furnish a better
fluid for digesting the next meat Every
i knows what comprises these

English Ambassador Puts
On Too Much Style To
Suit Taft.
NEW YORK, Deo. 21.—Cables from
London say that In diplomatic circles
It Is staled that Whltelaw Reid will quit
the diplomatic service when the new
administration comes Into power. Am
basaador Reid had caused It to be
known In Washington that he le willing
to continue in bis present post, but he
has been unable to obtain any Intima
tion that President-elect Taft would be
pleased to permit him to remain ut the
court of St. James.
Boclety will part with Mr. Reid re
luctantly and his departure will be a
grievous blow to London tradesmen.
The ambassador has been a most ex
travagant entertainer.
He has sat a pace In luxury and
splendor at ambassadorial receptions,
dinners, luncheons and balls that even
ths Russian, French and German am
boasadnra could not keep up with.
A story has reached London from
Washington to the effect that the ex
Iravagant splendor shown by Mr. Reid
has displeased the present and In
coming president. Not only has Mr,
Reid eclipsed all preceding ambassa
dors to the court of St. James In the
magnificent state with which he malm
tains the American embaeey. but he
has aroused the envy of American am
bassadors In ths other capitals of Eu
rope, who have been unable even to
emulate Mr. Held.
he report from Washington gti..
that Mr. Taft*haa expressed a desire
that the new American ambassador,
whoever he mny be. shall revert to the
simplicity of style of living character
istic of the famous American ambassa
dors of the past.
