Tag Day
A LARGE number of the prominent
women of the city are actively
interested in “Tag day” for the
the Sheltering Arms, a popular charity
sponsored by Atlanta women. Monday
Is the day set apart for this work, and
enlisted in the enterprise are hundreds

Wlnshlp Nunnally, son of Mr. and Mrs
James H. Nunnally. The ceremony will
be performed at the home of the bride
on Peachtree street next Thursday
evening, only members of the two fam
ilies to be present. Rev. Richard Orme
Flinn, pastor of the North Avenue
Presbyterian church, will officiate. The
young couple will be attended only by
Miss Fran’ces Nunnally, a sister of the
bridegroom, as maid of honor, and Mr.
Bowie Martin, as best man. The hour
for the ceremony is 8:30 o’clock, and at
9 o’clock there will be a brilliant re
ception. when several hundred guests
will be entertained A series of parties
for the bride will be given after her re
turn from the wedding, journey, which
will be spent on an automobile trip
through New England. Upon their re
turn to Atlanta, Mr. Nunnally and his
bride win he at home for a month at
the Georgian Terrace before going to
housekeeping in their new home now in
process of erection on Peachtree road.

Driving club Thursday, the 16th, for

Miss Blanche Nisbet, of Macon, who

While the present week showed a
decided tendency to slow up on things
social, which was a reactionary result
of grand opera week and attendant
gayeties, there have been several nota

Mrs. Jesse Norfleet, of Memphis; Mrs.
Henry Jackson's luncheon for the same

Will Attend
Reunion in
Macon
A LARGE number of Atlanta visit-,
ors will attend the reunion in
Macon next week, which will
have the most brilliant social side of
any national reunion of veterans in the
history of these events. Mrs. Walter
D. Lamar, assisted by chairmen and
committees which practically embrace
all the well known women of Macon,
has arranged a series of brilliant social
events, and in addition to these nu
merous affairs of equal brilliancy will
be given individual visitors and spon
sors at private residences during the
week. Miss Harriet Calhoun, a pretty
Atlanta debutante, who Is one > of the
maids of honor to the queen, Miss Mary
Scandrett. will i>e extensively enter
tained apart from the official affairs
which she will attend. Miss Calhoun
will be the guest of Mrs. Henry Wor
tham, one of Macon’s most prominent
society women, and among the affairs
for her will be an evening reception
given by Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Stevens
at their handsome residence on Georgia
avenue, and an afternoon tea tendered
by Mrs. Wortham, who is official chap
eron for the sponsors to the reunion.
Mrs. Wortham’s sisters, Mrs. John D.
Little, of Atlanta, and Mrs. Asheton
Starke, of Richmond, will be her guests
for the week also.
Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Slaton
will attend the reunion as guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Emmette Barnes, and on
Thursday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Em
ory Wlnshlp give a reception for Mr.
and Mrs. Slaton at their beautiful
home, which is one of the show places
of the city.
Among the brilliant official social af
fairs of the week will be the reunion
ball on Thursday evening and the
crowning of the queen on Coleman
hili Wednesday afternoon at 5 o’clock,
followed by the grand opening ball.
Miss Mary Scandrett is queen, and her
maids are some of Georgia's most
beautiful girls. Besides Miss Calhoun,
Miss Scandrett will be attended by Miss
Agnes Jones, of Albany, now a vis
itor in Atlanta; Miss Lalage Darwin,
of Athens; Miss Pearl Lewis, of Val
dosta. and other well known young
women. The scene of the crowning is
a beautiful lawn sloping from a mag
nificent old colonial residence on the
brow of the hill, which is the ancestral
home of Mrs. Frank Hawkins, one of
Atlanta’s most prominent hostesses.
She was Miss Birdie Coleman, of Ma
con. before her marriage, and will be
one of the reunion visitors from this
city.
On the list of sponsors and maids of
honor are many young women who are
well known In Atlanta. Miss Con
stances Jaques, a frequent and popular
visitor here, is maid of honor to the
United Sons of Confederate Veterans;
Mrs. Tracy Baxter, a recent grand op
era visitor, is chaperon for the vet
erans of Georgia; Miss Erin O’Neal,
recently the guest of Miss Nellie Kiser
Stewart, is a maid of honor, as is also
Miss Winnie May Hill, who often vis
its Miss Laura W'yatt in Atlanta. Miss
Regina Rambo, of Marietta, is spon
sor for the South. Miss Shlrly Curry,
granddaughter of Senator Bacon and
formerly an Atlanta, school girl, is
sponsor for the state division of Sons
of Veterans. Miss Mary Willingham,
the charming young daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. E. J Willingham, Is sponsor
for the Army of Tennessee. Besides
these well known young women, the
list of sponsors and maids will Include
many beautiful young women from
Georgia, Virginia. Alabama and other
states.
Among the Atlanta visitors to the
