4 WORKING GIRLS WILL LfflP OUT New Outing Club to Give Sum mer Home to Women and Boys of Atlanta. Plans fnr purchasing a hundred-acre tract near Atlanta and erecting cot tages and buildings where Atlanta working girls may sleep at night and spend their week-ends in the fresh country a:f were begun when the At lanta Outing club as organize-] with fifteen of the leadine men an-1 women of Atlanta as directors. A great summer . amp nil! be opened as soon as the dr.il f"r a plot of land Is closed There the boys of Atlanta will also be given a chanrt to spend a vacation, to breathe ft’-ii -iir. enjoy the pure, wholesome food and fresh vegetables of the country and disport themselves in an artificial lake. Summer homes for the young men and wom p n of Atlanta who work during the day in crowded offices and fa- lories and for tn» mothers and little children who must spend the heated months tin town will be provided. Place For the Week-End. Those who wI eh to spend a week’s vacation at small cost will be wel comed at the club grounds, and those who desire to make the place their home during the summer and come to their work each day on the street car will find a place. In this way it Is believed that the health and strength of the young working people of Atlanta can be conserved. The largest summer camp for boys ever conducted in Atlanta will be managed by George <’ Dorr, who has formerly conducted thee- - amps in At lanta and v ho was chosen at the meet ing. All features of the work will be absolutely non-sectarian. Old Boys Club Split. The new club Is in a measure the outgrowth of the former hoys camp and hove club organized in Atlanta. Last year a split among the directors and trustees of the boys club was caused b\ the desire of some of them to affiliate with the Young Men’s Chris tian association. Many of the leading men and women in charge believed that such an affiliation would hinder the work and contract Its -ope, nr a large number of the boys to be benefited by the club are the s -na of Italian immi grants- staunch Gatholli and of Russian Jews whose'ortho-loxt would not permit their becoming connected with the Young Men's f’hristlan .i. n clstmn.
