Little Support Is Shown After
First Call—Late Trading Ex
ceptionally Light.
NEW YORK. May 13.—Weak cables
and reports of weather Improvement over
the Southern belt caused a decline of from
5 to 8 points at the opening of the cotton
market today. There was considerable
liquidation In the near months After
the call. Southern buying caused a slight
rally. Futures and spot were easier in
Liverpool.
On the opening, trade was light and
selling rather general After the call
some very good buying came from com
mission and spot houses, but the ring
operators being against the market at
the moment, it Ist sold freely on all ral
lies. The map indicates more favorable
weather and there Is not much support for
that reason.
There was little support in the late
forenoon, though there was a entail rally
from the low levels on private predictions
that the unsettled weather conditions
would work into the eastern belt within
the next two or three days. At 2 o'clock
losses of from 4 to 7 points were shown
from the previous close

COTTON SEED OIL.
NEW YORK. May 13.—Carpenter. Bag
got X- Co.: Prices were a shade lower
in the cotton seed oil market today in
sympathy with cotton and on a continued
quiet trade in spot oil. The undertone
was steady, and while there was consid
erable liquidation for both local and
Western account, offerings wore well ab
sorbed. wllh much of the buying believed
to come from the South.
