Undying fame probably will l>e thrust
upon Representative R. J. Bulkley, of
Ohio, whose bill for the coinage of a
half cent and the recoinage of three
cent pieces has passed the house. The
new one-half-eent piece undoubtedly
will be named a 'Bulkley" by the pub
lic.
The three-Cent piece, calculated to as
sist in making change and to be of
service for three-cent car fares and
ferry trips, will fill doubtless a want,
but the "Bulkley” is the coin that is
going to cut some incomes in half and
revolutionize the trade of the pushcart
peddler.
In a few: months, when the new coins
come from the mint, the blind man on
the corner and the panhandler who
needs only a cent more to make up the
price of a bed will have to be content
with a "Bulkley."
"Say, .voting feller, but have you got a

heard along the route of the panhandler.
