Society News of Atlanta SMALL and informal are most of the parties of the week. There "ere a number of delightful lit tle parties today, one of these being a tea at the Piedmont Driving elub, when Miss Lula Dean Jones was the Chann ing hostess, her guests Including a group of young girls, invited in honor of Miss Pauline Foster, of Waco, Tex., the guest of Miss Jones. • The hostess and honoree were charming in soft white lingerie frocks and big white flower-trimmed hats. The other guests wore airy summer toilets also, and made a pretty picture, group ed around the tea table on the terrace, adorned with a big vase of pink and white sweetpeas. Tea For Bride. Mrs. J. A. Trammell entertained at tea this afternoon at her home in Col lege Park for Miss Ethel Wickersham and Miss Manelie Brew ster, two brides elect of the season. Pink and white roses were used as decorations, the tea table being arranged with a bowl of the flowers and pink and white bon bons. Miss Margaret Scully entertained a group of friends at a bridge luncheon today at her home on Piedmont avenue. The house was attractive with vases of garden roses and the score cards were hand painted in Dutch girls. The prizes included silver shoe buckles and a gauze fan. Luncheon was served at the card tables. Miss Scully and Miss Arlene Scully, who assisted in enter taining, wore white lingerie gowns. The guests were Mrs. C, M. Butler and her guest. Miss Muecke, of Cuba; Miss Ethel Goodman, Miss Jones, Miss Ryan, Miss Ruth Moody, Mrs. Pres ton Brown. Mrs. Snyder. Mrs. George Atkinson, Mrs. Thomas C. Goodman. Mrs. Edward Jones, Mrs. Russell Ven able. Mrs. Lynch. Mrs. Moody, Mrs. Thomas Smith and Mrs. William Low ry Meador. D. A. R. Luncheon, The Atlanta chapter, D. A. R.. of which Mrs. Sam D. Jones is regent, will have a picnic luncheon tomorrow at the chapter h.ouse on Piedmont ave nue. The members will assemble at the chapter house at 11:30 o'clock and will plant vines and plants to beautify the grounds. Each member is requested to bring lunch for one. and the house committee, composed of Mrs. Robert Jones, Mrs. James Whitten, Mrs. Chas. A. Davis, Mrs. W. O. Jones, Mrs. Hugh Lokey and Mrs. William Hurd Hlllyer, will arrange one long table for the luncheon, which will be an informal affair. Miss Richardson Hostess. Miss Julie Richardson entertained sixteen guests at a pretty informal tea this afternoon at her home. The at tractive apartments were decorated with sprays of pink rambler roses. Miss Marion Roberts, of Utica. N. Y., the guest of the Misses Stewart, was the honoree, the other young women present being Misses Eloise Stewart. FUTURE EVENTS | In addition to the series of parties already announced for Miss Ethel Wickersham, whose marriage to. Mr. Arthur Kitchlngs takes place, in June, Mrs. W. T. Roberts will entertain at a box party at the Forsyth, followed by tea at the Georgian Terrace on June in. Seely, president of the City Federation of Women's Clubs, will preside over the semi-annual meeting of the federation, which will be held to morrow at the Woman's elub, two ses sions -being scheduled for the day. The morning session is from 10 to 12:30 o’clock and the afternoon from 3 to 5 o'clock. For the morning session the invoca tion will be delivered by Dr. Robert S. Gray and Mrs. Edward Crawford, at Mrs. Crawford s apart ment on Seventh street. Covers were laid for eight, the guests including only the wedding attendants. The center piece was a large bowl of pink roses, with all minor details in pink and white. Miss Wickersham wore Copen hagen blue silk with a large black hat.
