TECH MEN FORM
BUSINESSBDARD
Organization to Systematize
Student Enterprises, Exclud
ing Athletics.
The Georgia School of Technology
has a real, sure-enough student body
organization at last. Moreover, It’s a
very enthusiastic organization, formed
at a meeting attended by pretty nearly
every Tech man in the school, where
every speech was cheered heartily and
officers were elected amid pledges to
make the institution one of the strong
est in the country-.
W. F. Coleman presided as chair
man, and these first officers were elect
ed: President, F. A. Montague, vice
president. H. H. Holland; secretary, H.
Cook.
The organization calls for a central
board of supervisors, consisting of three
members of the faculty, to be appoint
** ed by the president of the school, and
three members to be elected by the stu
dent body from the senior class, the
latter constituting the officers of the
organization
Athletics Not Included.
The purpose of the organization is to
systematize and co-ordinate the stu
dent activities at Georgia Tech, not in
cluding athletics. Another department
handles this separately. The super
visory board will direct all other stu
dent activities, including the college
publications. The Blue Print. The Tech
nique and The Yellow Jacket; also the
Glee club and the college band. Sec
ond. this board will also regulate and
control the financial and other relations
of the student activities which may
arise.
The name of the new association will
be the Georgia Tech Student associa
tion. It will systematize the student
activities of Georgia Tech and reduce
them to a businesslike basis by pro
viding for competent and efficient di
rection to al! movements undertaken
by the students.
