Singing National
T_JOW many of our girls and boys, or men and
1 women, for that matter, can sing from be
ginning to end “My. Country, ’Tis of Thee,’’
“Hail, Columbia,’’ “Star Sp angled Banner,’’ or
any other of our national hymns?
Not many, we venture to say, ami it is a pity, be
cause these stately old tunes hold the very spirit of
patriotism and love of country.
Have your ehildren sing these hymns to you of an
evening. There is material in them to fire the blood of
old ami young.
Ts you haven’t a piano for accompaniment, we will supply one
on any reasonable terms yon may ask. All you have to pay for the
accommodation is Simple banking interest on the unpaid balance.
Come and hear “My Country" played on a sweet-toned Ludden
& Bates Piano. And bring the children with you.

SHORT AND TO
THE POINT
Follow Example of Woman's
Institution In Compiling Knowl
edge Compactly.
Dr. Graham Taylor, the noted Chi
cago sociologist, has said that, there is
nothing like a woman’s intuition for
going directly to the point by the short
est cut possible. Mr. Taylor believes
that, there is something almost uncan
ny about the high average of correct
ness in the apparent guesswork of
womankind, and perhaps various men
who have tried to deceive their wives
agree with him.
The last of just the quality that this
student notes in woman is what has
long blocked the progress of’giving to
the public a compact, commonsense
reference work that would place the his
tory of the world's great events upon
any one's desk without occupying a
space greater than an ordinary novel
would take up. That is the Standard
A.t.las and Chronological History of the
World, which The Georgian is offering
to its readers.
Graham Taylor was mossing on a
New York ferry boat and received one
of his first impressions of womanly di
rectness when his mot her cried out that
her pocketbook had been stolen, and.
pointing directly to the man who stood
next to her. cried: "That man took it."
Her son feared a scene, ns he claimed
that no man would have dared accuse
another without evidence; but. much
to his surprise, the man proved to be
the guilty party.
In the past experts in compiling
knowledge have lacked the ability to
"pack" it in a volume so that not an
inch of space is lost and the possessor
of the hook can place his finger on
a fact like Mrs. Taylor did on the
pickpocket without a moment's delay.
But the publishers of this Atlas have
accomplished this task, and it is the
book you can not afford to be with
out.
Just six headings from this paper and
a small expense fee get it.
