and long before variety became vaude

the big stars of hiodern vaudeville, and

Isabelle d’Armond, the pretty sing

popular favorite months ago at the
Forsyth, is to return with a new part

that this new combination of talent
has attracted unusual attention all over
the circuit. The great following that
Miss d’Armond has here will make her
a valuable asset to the bill, and it may

the hit makers.
Martinetti and Sylvester, original

The Forsyth, patrons will recall the
engagement of Rutan’s Song Birds, in

There have been numerous requests

MADAME ZENDA WILL BE
FEATURE AT THE BIJOU
Theatergoers in general have always
been attracted by the weird and un
natural and uncanny, and the appear
ance next week of Madam Zenda,
vaudeville’s latest* sensation, at the
Bijou will doubtless prove one of the
biggest cards that has been offered, at
this playhouse since its entrance into
vaudeville some three years, ago. Mad
am Zenda offers an act that is at once
weird, startling and interesting, as well
as entertaining. It is said that sire
commences where others have left off
and her mind reading and other stunts
in this line have baffled amusement
seekers as well as the most scientific
minds. The appearance of Madam
Zenda will ’Certainly bring to the Bijou
many faces that are seldom seen in
amusement places of the city. In ad
dition to the headliner, the program

of entertainers; Fred Lewis and Mar

Do You Know—
Copper sulphate is often used for
destroying the scumlike weeds in
ponds. But precautions must be taken,
for unless the right proportion of sul
phate is used any fish which may be in
the pond will be injured. The propor
tion of copper sulphate used in the
ponds at New" Gardens Is one part to
from 750,000 to 1,000,000 parts of water.
Sulphate of copper in a pulverized state
is placed in a porous bag and dragged
through the water until dissolved. The
water in St. James park, London, it
might be mentioned, has for two sum
mers been kept free from scum by this
method.
Spanners and screwdrivers are the
only tools required in up-to-date house
building. This latest development in
an Important craft comes, as might be
expected, from the United States.
Blocks of concrete cement are cast ac
cording to the desired pattern, with a
wire spiral passage through the center.
When ready’ for erection steel pins are
passed through the center of the cast
ings. and the whole bolted together
over wooden frame. The -work of
building or dismantling a house so con
structed is stated to be simple in the
extreme.
Ernest Feldkirch, a Gottingen car
penter of 86 years of age. has cheer
fully looked death in the face for 26
years. His first illness, which came
when he was 60. suggested to him that,
having no relatives, he should provide
for his burial himself and as soon as
he recovered he set to work and made
himself a coffin, which he placed con
veniently’ beside his bed. After a num
ber of years it began to decay, and he
was obliged to make another. The
■Second is now in the same condition as
the first, and his friends are urging
Feldkirch to discard it for a third. The
old man. who is hale and happy as ever,
’declares that he will make one more, and
If he finds it decaying he will give the
business up as a bad job.
BETTER THAN SPANKING.
Spanking does not cure children of
bed-wetting. There is a constitutional
cause for-this trouble. Mrs. M. Sum
mers, Box W, Notre Dame, Ind., will
send free tn any mother her successful
home treatment, with full instructions.
Send no money, but write her today
if your children trouble you irj this
way. Don’t blame the child, the chances
are it can’t help it. This treatment
also cures adults and aged people trou
bled with urine difficulties by day or
night.

American Lady
Corsets
'‘They give the stylish lines,
yet are so flexible—-the most
comfortable corset I have ever
worn.”
This is the manner in which
wearers of American Lady
Corsets express themselves.
The flexible boning of every
model means increased comfort
and increased durability. A
stiffly boned corset always
breaks before it gives the wear
er the proper amount of service.
Let your next corset be an
American Lady. It will pro
duce the stylish, slender lines,
along with a natural grace and
flexibility of form.
The Keely fitters will make
a point of providing you with
the right model for your figure.
