PRESSION AND BUSINESS.
2d. THE HIGH LITERARY STANDARD. The standard
of the college is fourteen (14) Carnegie Units.
3d. THE SPLENDID ADVANTAGES IN MUSIC. Our
Conservatory of Music has an unusually strong faculty. The
members are not only musicians, but men and women of ex
ceptional literary culture. They have had the very best pro
fessional training in America and Europe, and have proven
themselves most efficient teachers. The best methods of the
continental conservatories and ideas of the great private
teachers of America and Europe have been adopted with such
modifications as are necessary for an American school for
young women.
4th. THE SCHOOLS OF ART AND EXPRESSION. These
schools have strong faculties and well-equipped studios. The
ideals and standards of both departments are high and the
courses thorough.
sth. THE HOME LIFE. • Chicora is a home school with a
select student body from the best families of the Southern
states. Every feature of its home life is under the direct care
of the President and his wife. Such a watchfulness over the
pupils is maintained as is prompted by affection and a sin
cere desire for their comfort, happiness and advancement. An
earnest effort is made to do for the daughters of others just

what we would have the authorities of a college do for our
own daughter.
6th. THE CARE OF HEALTH. The institution is in the
highest sense a school for the body as well as for the mind
and heart. The best regulations in modern sanitation are ap
plied in the college. With efficient professional service, kind,
motherly attention, and the unexcelled healthful climate, the
college has a health record which, we suppose, is unsurpassed.
7th. THE RELIGIOUS TRAINING AND INFLUENCE
Chicora is a Christian college. The Bible is a text-book, and
things spiritual are regarded as of the first importance. The
supreme aim of the college is to make women; and its concep
tion of womanhood is a graceful and vigorous body, a thor
oughly disciplined mind, together with a high, moral and
spiritual character.
Bth. THE LOCATION. The college is located in a city of
about 30,000 population, and situated on the slope of the Blue
Ridge mountains in western South Carolina and justly praised
as the “Pearl of the Piedmont.” A more ideal climate could
hardly be found. The city and college are supplied with the
finest and purest mountain water, and are noted for healthful
ness.
9th. THE EQUIPMENT. Large and able faculty; beauti
ful grounds; elegant buildings, and modern conveniences.
10th. CHARGES MODERATE AND TERMS LIBERAL.
