Says Gen. Wright
General W. A Wright, state insur
ance commissioner, said today that the
allegations in the Mlles suit against the
Rome insurance Company were true in
the main He asserted that :< syndi
cate of stockholders and directors of
the Rome company did'take profits on
the sale of three for one stock, an ac
tion which they maintained was legal
and were willing to test in court.

money back to the company and one
of the officers. Captain J. L. Bass. did.
Bass is made an exception in Miles'
suit.
As regards the merger, Genera I

be strengthened by the merger. The
suit, he said, was an outgrowth of i .

EIGHTY FOOT STREET
An ordinance by Alderman Nulling was
adopted by the city council yesterday aft
ernoon establishing a new building line
on Peachtree street, providing that this
street shall be an SO-foot street. It is:
From EJlis'to Baker street and from
Forrest avenue to Fifteenth street no
building shall be erected nearer than
40 feet from the center of Peachtree
street along the iwo sections, of
Peachtree street above defined, thus
giving an 80-foot street
Furthermore, no new buildings
hereafter erected shall be built nearer
Io the Center of Peachtree street,
along such sections, than to feet

DISSOLUTION SUIT
FOR STEEL TRUST
U .ASHINGTON. .July 16, Members
of the Stanley steel committee at an
executive meeting today reached a ten
tative agreement that all of the mem
bers of the committee would approve
the filing of a suit for the dissolution of
the steel corporation
On other points the Pemocratir and
' Republican members have so far failed
to reach an .agreement, and prepara
tions are under way for the submission
of both a majority and a minority re
port.

A movement to put Colonel Theodore
Roosevelt’s n»w political party on its
feet in Georgia has been inaugurated
and will be pushed vigorously by its
friends and advocates.
A meeting has been called by the
National Progressive committee for
Georgia for a convention in Atlanta on
Thursday. July 25, for the purpose of
eonHdering ways and means of organ
ization and to name delegates to the
national convention in Chicago on Au
gust 5 <.'onventions are called in the
various congressional districts of th°
state on Monday, July 22. to choose
delegates—t wo from each congres
sional district—to the Atlanta conven
tion on the following Thursday.
The central committee will name four
delegates at large to participate in the
Atlanta gathming and "ill name dis
trict delegates In any district in which
the faithful fail to sassemble.
