AT THE THEATERS
STELLA MAYHEW IS STAR
ON THE FORSYTH’S BILL.
Stella Mayhew, the distinguished
American .comedienne, a real star in
musical comedy, creator of impot
ent roles in some of the most success
ful stay-in-New York productions and
ate a star principal at the now fammis
•Jew York winter garden, and recently
he greatest hit that has been intro
luced in the exclusive vaudeville thea
ters now in operation, is to be the head
line attraction at the Forsyth for next
week.
The star will be assisted by Billie
Taylor, who has contributed to her
success ever since she was first accept
ed as a star, and that the headliner
will be a favorite here Is the prediction.
The supporting bill is of that quality
of vaudeville that has made the For
syth a most popular theater and is
made up of acts that have reputations
that are most valuable in securing con
tinuous engagements In the best places
•>f amusement.
A feature will be the appearance of
the Six Musical Cuttys, a remarkable
family of skilled vocal and Instrument
al musicians. This is one of the stand
ard headline features of vaudeville, and
that it will be a treat is an assured
ft. t. A novelty of value will be the
Introduction of Norris’ baboons, Em
peror and Empress, the most wonderful
trained animals on exhibition. The
apes perform really intelligent stunts.
Th?y dress and undress themselves,
smoke and eat like human beings and
are expert bicycle riders. They will
play a little sketch called ‘‘A Monkey
Romance."
Miss Norton and Paul Nicholson in
a novelty comedy creation and a host
of other performers make up the bill.
The Forsyth has stood the heated
spell with remarkable success. It has
been proven that "It is cooler in the
Forsyth than out on the streets." and
it is remarkable' that the management
can offer at this time such a splendid
series of acts. It is next to good
fortune that the Forsyth continues in
operation, for without the busy the
ater, there are hundreds of people who
would be without the necessary recre
ation that a performance affords. The
booking for the rest of the summer is
remarkable for its quality and strength.
FINE BILL IS BOOKED
AT BIJOU NExXT WEEK
The feature for next week's bill at
the Bijou is Quigg & Nickerson, who
have been secured for a return engage
ment. This is the blackface musical
act, furnishing fifteen minutes of about
as hearty laughter as the average the
atergoer can stand this hot weather.
As comedians and musicians this pair
have few equals on the stage. The
program also announces the appear
ance of Sheridan & Sloan, in their mu
sical sketch entitled, "A Tag Day Epi
sode;’’ Charles and Ada Latham, in a
skit entitled, "Nobody's Kid," and
Moore and Gilbert, comedy acrobats,
who will round out one of the best and
most popular bills that has been of-

sered at the Bijou this season. The
moving picture part of the Bijou en

amongst the best pictures given in At

the excellent vaudeville offered at the
Bijou that a splendid series of pictures
are to be seen there also. During the
heated term there is no better place
than the Bijou to spend an hour In the
afternoon or evening. Especial atten
