bright, George W. Payne, A W. Tolleson
and J. L. Holcombe, all of said state and
county, respectfully shows;

associates, successors and assigns to be
Incorporated and made a body politic
under the name and style of Carlton Shoe
and Clothing Company, for a period of
twenty (20) years, with the privilege of
renewal thereafter.
2. The capital stock of said corporation
is to be fifty thousand <$50,000) dollars,
divided into shares of the par value of
one hundred ($100) dollars each, but pe
titioners desire the right to increase said
capital stock at any time by a vote of a

WIFE MAKES GOOD
THREAT ON LIFE OF
WORTHLESS SPOUSE
LAFAYETTE, IND, Aug. 29. —When
Hart Sewell. 40. returned to his home
in West Lafayette today after several
days' absence, his wife tired two shots
into his abdomen, fatally wounding
him. Mrs. Sewell had threatened to
kill him when he returned.
Sewell formerly was a wealthy Boone
county land owner, but had dissipated
his fortune.
EARTH TREMOR FELT IN
MICHIGAN MINE BELT
CALUMET, MICH. Aug. 29.—An
earthquake shock was felt here shortly
after x o'clock this morning. Reports
sty the shock was general throughout
the district. Buildings were shaken
perceptibly. No reports of damage
from the many mines in the district
have as yet been received.
