THE POULTRY SCHOOL.
Just as "the sal-

Poultry
Doctor

lies in the educa

salvation of the
poultry industry
depend upon the
education of the
poultryman. Such
a text seems to
imply that the
poultry industry
needs saving. It
does; it needs to
be saved from
mediocrity, from
ridicule, from un-
: systematic and old-fashioned methods.
This the poultry school is doing. The
I poultry school dignifies poultry learn-
I ing, the chair of poultry husbandry in
our universities is a great factor in ob
i taining serious consideration of a sub
' ject-by a public that once did not deem
iit worthy of academic treatment.
I Through the influence of the poultry
I school old methods are being discarded
• and modern methods based on scentific
principles take their place. The stand
ard of excellence is raised and more
capital will be attracted to the indus
try, more men in the business world
will be interested.
It is amazing to observe how little
attention the average poultry maga
zine gives to the subject of poultry in
struction and investigation. Many jour
nals apparently have little knowledge
of what Is being accomplished even in
their own state to- judge by the con
spicuous absence of comment in their
pages.—Poultry Index.
