Spen cer. tvho is condemned to die for the murder of Miss Martha Blackstone, a Springfield school teacher, arose almost blithely todaj in his cell ai Charles town prison. A night in the cell where Clarence V. T. Richeson passed his last days seemed to have no effect upon the pris oner. He got up to begin his day in the death house with the same dis play of indifference which marked him on his arrival as one of the coolest condemned men the prison authorities ever watched through his last hours.
