To gel the best results liens must be fed a variety as well as an abundance of food. 11 does not pay to feed fowls just enough to keep them alive. Such a policy is penny wise and pound foolish. It is no where more noticeable than in the care of laying hens, ('nil out the hens that are over two years old and necessar ily on the decline. True, there are rare excep tions. Where il is possible or al all convenient separate the' hens and pullets that the pullets may have a little more feed than the hens reoiiirc. Do not de pend wholly upon corn or corn and oafs for your winter food supply. Let wheat be included. Bran is most excellent rough feed, and may be kept before them in troughs at all times.
