This Is -the fifth d iv of (lie fighting around the Turkish city of Adrianople, which will likely <!••• ioe the Balkan war. A iliough the Bulgarian army has oc cupied the heights of Tirnovo and Va siliko. respectively, northeast and northwest of Kirk Kilesseh, the Turks a’e still on Kirk Kilesseh heights, which is their second bast of defense. I’elegrains from the front slated that this days lighting was inauguiated by an artillery duel which began before daybreak The soldiers who had slept upon their arms were soon in motion. Both lines of battle are between 40 and 50 miles long, extending in a semi circle through the Morltza valley from Kirk Kilesseh on the northeast to the outer works of the Turks on the west. The casualties have been very heavy and some of the dead who fell four days ago were still lying unburied. Bayonet Advance Expected. 1 he methods of the Bulgarian gen erals, under King Ferdinand, in carry ing the Turkish strongholds- north of Adrianople, indicated that the Bulga rians would attempt to drive the Turks into the cltadt-l with a grand assault all along the line. Every telegram to day was expected to bring word of a general bayonet advance by the Bulr garfans upon the second Turkish base of opeiations Heavy Bulgarian guns were brought up and King Ferdinand tried to throw shells into the city, but the distance was too great. I he bloodiest fighting Is around Kirk Kilesseh (or the city of 40 churches), where the defense has been as brilliant as the reported attacks. Aeroplanes in Service. BuigaHan aeroplanes have been as sembled at the front and daily recon noissances are being made by Bulga rian aviators. One airman ascended 1.000 feet and made a rough draft of the Turkish works in the .outskirts of Adrianople. The Turks directed a steady fire at the machine, but it was out of range Minor fighting is reported ala num ber of scattered points east and west of Adrianople. A Constantinople dispatch states that the Bulgarian force sta tioned at Marasa was routed by Turks and tied, leaving thousands of dead Upon the battlefield. Ail Constantinople reports of the fight received here are believed to be highly ■ olored The telegrams are re garded as much more reliable. BUYS ENTIRE TOWN FOR INVESTMENT PURPOSES AlOi'NT VERNON.
