The laundry will occupy the entire sec ond floor, and prisoners will do all the washing for the family of 900. The cob biers shop will fie on the top story. Not a. shoe will be bought outside the walled nclosure —only the raw materials-and the prisoners will wear hand-made footwear, oeting tn the market from $5 to $7. Work Is progressing nicely on the $200,- 000 hospital, which was started some time ago Features of this structure -will be the physician's well-appointed office, a recreation room and sun parlor for pris oners, a tunnel connecting with the main building, and better facilities generally for caring for the government’s sick. A house for Deputy Warden W. C. Hawk, situated east of the prison and outside the Inolosure, will soon be erected, *t a cost of $25,000. This will be similar to Warden W. H. Moyer’s house on the west side, and costing $30,000. The administration building and two new “cell blocks” In process of erection just north of the old main building will contain 300,000 cubic feet of stone taken from Stone mountain, and this quantity Is said to be the largest in any building tn the world, and four to six times as mnch as goes to make up the Atlanta peel office.
