Poultry Show Notes
By PERCY H. WHITING.
About tlie cleanest thing in the way
of a clean sweep ever made at any
show was that of John Low Smith’s
Wonderland Poultry Farm in the White
Runner duck class. All he took was
12, 3 pen. in a class of 11; 1.2, 3 hen
in a class of 15: 3, 4 rock in a class of
11; 1,4, 5 cockerel in a class of 15
and 1, 2 pullet in a class of 16. not to
mention a silver cup for the best pen
of White Runners in the show.
The White Runner class numbered
110. and was thus one of the largest
that the country ever knew.
The only Blue Orpingtons in the show
are in pens number 388, 389 and 390.
Don't miss them. They are among the
wonders of the show.
The Partridge Plymouth Rock pen.
No. 759 in the show, ran the Brown
Leghorns a wry close race for first
honors in the ’’best pen of parti-colored
fowls in the show” class. It is a fine
lot of birds and entitled to honors any
where.
No exhibit of Rhode Island Reda has
attracted more attention than that of
Barrett Phinizy, of Athens, Ga. Mr.
Phinizy is showing both Single and
Rose Comb birds, and has some excep
tional specimens. Mr. Phinizy's birds
took the following prizes last year:
Single Comb Rhode Island Reds—

Ga.. first cockerel and third pullet on
two entries; at Athene, Ga., first hen.
first cockerel, first pullet and first hen;
at Southern International, at Atlanta,
Ga., first pullet and fourth pen.
Mrs. W. J. Root, of Ensley. Ala., is
at the local show soliciting subscrip
tions for The Practical Poultry Jour
nal, a new publication Issued from Bir
mingham, Ala.
The exhibit of the Regal Wyandotte
Yards, of 230 Oglethorpe avenue, is Mn
unusually good one. The yards of this
concern, located in West End. contain
several hundred high-class birds. \j
Mrs. R. M. Franklin, of Ormewood

of Buff Orpington ducks. The prises
were 1. 2 hen, 1 cock, I,Z fockerel.

Beautiful Decatur Lots, 21 of Them
Cheap.
The prices run from S3OO to S7OO and all but four of the lots have sewer and
raved sidewalks. These lots are in ths town of Decatur, giving free school
privileges, and are only three blocks from Agnes Scott College and four blocks
from public school. They are on Candler, Davis, Haddock and Green afreets, and
commence in about 100 feet of South Decatur car line. The neighborhood Is the
very best. There is no place around Atlanta, where you can buy such lots sot
less than twice the price, with all city conveniences. It don't cost any more to
get to them than to ride three blocks in the city. If you want a home buy one
of these lots and build a six-room cottage and you will get a home for $2,506 that
will cost you twice that much in the same kind of location in the city If you
r ant an investment, buy one of the lots and double the money In a few years
The terms are one-fourth cash and balance monthly with 7 per cent interest
I have plats at mv office and will give you prices on the lots you want If
you want to see the property, get off at Davis street, south Decatur Vine
