The Augusta Show
By LEONARD H. GRAVES.
AUGUSTA. GA., Nov. 7.—The Au
gusta Poultry association show held in
connection with the Georgia-Carolina
fair has an entry of over 1,500 birds In
competition. This grand display of the
feathered flock would do justice to any
show in the land. Over 128 exhibitors
are on the list and the cream of all
breeds from every direction are housed
within the fair grounds at Augusta.
The Southern birds, especially the
Georgia ones, are big winners, and do
credit to the Cracker state. Every true
Georgian should be proud of the fact
that such fine birds are being bred
within the bounds of the state. North
ern and other breeders have found real
competition this year, more than they
ever expected.
Too much praise can not be given th
the officials of this organization for
making this show such a grand suc
cess from start to finish. The poultry
house has been overhauled from last
year, arc and electric lights make the
show room as bright as day at night.
The coops are arranged in fine style,
good healthy aisles with fine ventila
tion.
