If the comb of the hen is plump and red, and the color of the face and wat tles a bright color, it is a sure sign that she is in good health. If she is con fined she will show great restlessness, activity and be full of business when at liberty. She will ever be on the alert at sounds. But if the comb be shriv eled and the edges are a purplish red and the hen be listless, sleepy, and slorv in her movements, she is out of condition, being sick or will be soon. These conditions are the same with males, in either sex they should have a clear, bright eye. Brilliancy of plumage of an active laying lien is another sure test. Note the close-fitting smooth and bright surface. ATHENS SHOW?" The Southern Poultry association of Athens will hold its show December 3-5. It expects to have over 1,500 birds from the North, East.
