UILSON BICK ON GOVERNOR'S JOB President-Elect to Hold Up An nouncement on Special Session For Present. TRENTON. J - N(,v - — Presi ' del n-el*ect Wilson journeyed from his Home at Princeton to the state house s e re toiiay in an automobile and, tnind ful of the recent accident, when his bumped the roof of an automo bile he cautioned the chauffeur not to speed. Govcnor Wilson had before him a bl ,Jy day at the state capitol, attend t -,‘ z set' cal committees, conferring with t Eminent visitors, and disposing of Eo-r.c important matters pertaining to " passing the junction station of the Pennsylvania railroad. Governor Wilson at he had spent about two .Ears of l' is Ille 011 the station P lat ’ 1 form waiting for trains. Holds Up Announcement. President-elect Wilson decided today w make no announcement until after ■ bls return from his vacation as to whether or not an extra session of corn eress will be called. He declared thht he has not even formed an opinion on the subject. I'ne president-elect was asked about the report, printed in some of the morn ing newspapers that President and Mrs. Taft intended inviting him and Mrs. Wilson to the white house next month. I have received no such invitation,” said the president-elect. "Stories of that character are inex cusable. because the president might now feel compelled out of courtesy to • invite us." The governor today received from Lafayette college, Lafayette, Ala., a swt'■ potato weighing eleven pounds eleven ounces. It is about the size and tape of a tootball. The governor in spected it critically and said: "A forward pass.” Symbol of Alabama’s Vote. A letter accompanying the sweet po tato said: "We do not know that you care for I sweet potatoes, but we wan to show you tvhat Alabama can do in the way of agricultural products and to say that the size of this sweet potato in some small degree expresses the way we voted for you in the election last Tues day.” Governor Wilson received In his mail today the left hind feet of six rabbits alleged to have been shot in the dark of the moon at midnight on Friday. Some one sent Governor Wilson a ‘■housewife,” containing needles, vari ous kinds of thread, a thimble and white buttons for undergarments and black buttons for outer wear. Also i there were a dozen bottles of hair tonic probably intended to coax back the hair that had to be shaved off the governor’s head to admit dressing the wound he sustained in his automobile accident. * Bryan Not for Cabinet Place I . {'•\.SHirN<;TON. Nov. 12.—William A J Bryan today intimated he would not accept a place in President-elect Wil son s cabinet and declared he is not in terfsted in the selection of the men to adyis the Democratic executive-to-be. I am entirely out of it,” he assert e“- “I am not interested in it myself nor ui .my one who is. MfflLHINi FOUGHTINGOURT I Because the late Dr. Chapman Powell i had decreed that his body should re- j main buried in the little two-acre cent- I etery of 'Hardemgn Primitive Baptist church, on the Paces Ferry road, heirs of Mrs. A. K. Houston, deceased daugh ter of Dr. Powell, have joined with heirs of the late Mary J. Rucker in op posing the erection of the Rucker mau soleum in Oakland cemetery as the last I resting place of Dr. Powell and his im mediate family. Joining the Rucker legatees, ten heirs of Mrs. Houston, headed by A. B. Houston and Dr. W. J. Houston, filed suit in superior court today to set aside the features of the Rucker will relative to the reinterment of the bodies of Dr. Powell and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Powell. The petitioners asserted that Dr. Potveil bought the land upon which the Hardeman cemetery is located in 1840 and set aside two acres for a burial ground. It was his wish, the suit re lates, that both he and his wife be buried there and this wish was carried out to the letter. When the will of Mrs. Mary J. Ruck er was probated it was discovered that she had set aside $15,6w from the es tate to be used in the erection of a granite vault in Oakland cemetery as a burial place for herself, her late hus band and her father and mother. Mrs. Rucker’s heirs immediately filed pro test, citing practical zeasons as the cause of their action. The suit filed today by the heirs o 0 Mrs. Houston, a sister of Mrs. Rucker, is based upon sentimental grounds. It is asserted that Dr. Powell preferred the Primitive burying ground to any other and that hi- last wish should be respected.
