Terminated.
fONHON, Nov. 14.—Peace- in the
Ba , k; ’ns ’> ftt ,ast in siKht and danger
7 ' European clash seems to have
r,een averted. A private message re-
, . ! ' . re from Constantinople states
V, t .he Turkish government has al-
La opened negotiations direct with
the Balkan allies.
Turkey, through Nazim Pasha, the
Ottoman minister of war, has appealed
t 0 General Savoff. ths Bulgarian com
mander at Chatalja. for an eight-day
8 7nistice. General Savoff notified Czar
Ferdinand of Turkey’s petition and it
is believed that the armistice will be
ordered at once.
War Apparently Over.
London’s belief is that the war is nt
gn end Turkey has been hopelessly
whipped and she could not have con
tinued the struggle many more days,
military experts say. Actual peace ne
gotiations will probably be commenced
next week.
4 report from-the Turkish capital by
waj . of Vienna said that pourparlers
had already been begun at the Sublime
Porte with M. Popoff, first secretary of
the Bulgarian legation, and M. Nena
fevitch, Bulgarian minister to Turkey,
acting for the Bulgarian government.
From all accouuts, Czar Ferdinand
has given up his determination of
throwing his victorious Bulgar army
into the Ottoman capital. However,
the city may be occupied later by an
army made up of Bulgarian. Servian,
Montenegrin and Greek troops as sig
> natory of the joint victory over the
Crescent.
Envoy on Way to Sofia.
It is now learned that Musurus Bey,
Turkish minister of posts and tele
graphs, who was reported yesterday to
b» en route for Paris, is really on his
tvay to Sofia as special peace envoy.
The Sublime Porte, is said to be pre
pared to make humiliating sacrifices.
One of these is the withdrawal of the
. Turkish soldiers from the Chatalja
lines, leaving the cit!|r exposed to the al
lies.

Important
Cascarets immediately cleanse and

Sofia Rejoices at
News of War End
SOFIA, Nov. 14.—News that Turkey
is suing for peace caused wild rejoic
ing throughout this jity today. It is
regarded here with a large degree of
confidence that Bulgaria won the war
for the Balkan league.
The Bulgarian army outside of Con
stantinople is making a final assault
upon the Chatalja forts, according to
reports from the front today. This in
telligence was received simultaneously
with dispatches that provisional ar
rangements for, an armistice had been
made by Turkey, and created consider
able confusion in the public mind as
to the real situation at the battle front.
Fighting at Adrianople.
( Fighting is also in progress around
Adrianople, it is said. The Turks are
reported to have made another desper
ate sortie against Turkish works at
the junction of the Arda and Maritza
rivers, which are now held by’ Bulga
rians. As the artillery from, the forts
commands the inner defenses of the
city’, the Turks fought desperately to
recapture them.
The Bulgarians now hold four forts
outside Adrianople, from which the
second line works are being shelled.
Premier Guechoff held a number of
official conferences today, dealing with
the immediate exigencies of the situa
tion. Bulgaria’s claims upon Turkey
for consideration for peace had been
drawn up beforehand. These include
territorial acquisition from the south
ern frontier of Bulgaria to the Aegean
sea and the Sea of Marmora.
Paris Likely to Get
Peace Conference
ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 14.—Prep
arations are being made in official cir
cles for a conference of the powers to
be held following the declaration of
peace between Turkey and the Balkan
allies.
It is believed here that the negotia
tions will be opened, probably in Paris,
within a fortnight.
Count Witte, who negotiated the
Russo-Japanese peace convention for
Russia in America, will probably’ repre
sent the St. Petersburg government.
While peace is believed near, never
theless Russia is not overlooking the
possibility of diplomatic complications
which may threaten another rupture in
Europe.
Balkan dispatches indicate now that
Alabania will become an autonomous
principality under the nominal suze
rainty of the Turkish sultan instead of
being divided up among the allies.
Salonika will probably’ be interna
tionalized and Roumania will get a slice
of Bulgarian territory for remaining
neptral. Austria and Servia will prob
ably join hands in the construction of
an Adriatic-Danube railway and Ser
via will be- given free commercial use
of the Adriatic ports of Durazzo and
San Giovanni di Medura.
Bourses Reflect
Peace Prospects
PARIS. Nov. 14. —The continental
bourses today reflected a strong and
favorable tone as a result of the pros
pects for immediate peace in the Bal
kans, without resultant European en
tanglements.
THOMAS COUNTY'S FAIR
best one of five held
THOMASVILLE. GA., Nov. 14.—The
fifth annual exhibition of the Thomas
County Farmers Fair association, which
is now in progress here, is conceded to
be the best held since the organization
of the association. The attendance is”
large.
The display of farm and garden
products, fruits, flowers, canned goods
and fancy work is above the average.
The exhibit of the Girls Canning club
attracts great attention and reflects
credit both upon the girls and Miss
Forrest, the county demonstrator, who
has been in charge of the work this
year.
The poultry show is a great feature.
F. J. Marshall, of Atlanta, The Geor
gian’s poultry expert, is the judge. The
stock exhibit is the largest seen here.
It was judged today.

BOY NURSE TAKEN
FOR GIRL BY PASTOR
WHO SEES MYSTERY
Mrs. W. S. Parker, of 37 Adams
street, Decatur, called the chief of po
lice today to ask that the mullato boy
she employed to look aster's? little boy
relative be not annoyed any more by
persons, who think he is a woman in
disguise. She said the young negro
has long hair and a rather effiminate
appearance and this' had led to his be
ing stopped by Rev. G. R. Buford, con
nected with the Men and Religion For
ward Movement, who believed the child
was being kidnaped.
Mr. Bufprd saw the child and his at
tendant on the Whitehall viaduct yes
terday afterndbn and at once jumped to
the conclusion that something was
wrong, and perhaps the boy was being
kidnaped by a woman dressed in a
man’s attire. He called Policeman Hill,
who questioned the young negro, but
declined to make an arrest unless Mr.
Buford assumed all responsibility.
While they were discussing matter
both the child and the attendant disap
peared. The police made a search, but
the mysterious pair had taken the trol
ley to Decatur and their trail was lost.
CONSECRATES HeTIIFE
TO MEMORY OF SON
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 14.—1 n spite of dis
couragments by a coroner’s verdict and
police theories that her son, J. Hazelton
White, aged 22, ended his own life, Mrs.
Dora B. White announced she had con
secrated herself to the task of proving
he was murdered. An accident insurance
company has told her it would not pay a
S7OO policy unless she can establish that
he did not die by his own hand. Her
motive, she declares, however, is not to
get the money but. to wipe a stain from
her son’s memory.
