Sofia Rejoices at
News of War End
SOFIA, Nov. 14.—News that Turkey
Is suing for peace caused wild rejolc-
Ing throughout this city today. It is
regarded here with a large degree of
confidence that Bulgaria won the war
for the Balkan league.
The Bulgarian army outside of Con
stantinople's making a final assault
upon the Chatalja forts, according to
reports from the front today. This in
telligence was received simultaneously
with dispatches that provisional ar
rangements for an armistice had been
made by Turkey, and created consider
able confusion in the public mind as
to the real stluatlon at the battle front.
Fighting at Adrianople,
Fighting is also in progress around
Adrianople, it is said. The Turks are
reported to have made another desper
ate sortie against Turkish works at
the junction of the Arda and Marltza
rivers, which are now held by Bulga
rians. As the artillery from the forts
commands the inner defenses of the
city, the Turks fought desperately to
recapture them.
The Bulgarians now hold four forts
outside Adrianople, from which the
second line works are being shelled.
Premier Guechoff held a number of
official conferences today, dealing with
the immediate exigencies of the situa
tion. Bulgaria’s claims upon Turkey
for consideration for peace had been
drawn up beforehand. These include
territorial acquisition from the south
ern frontier of Bulgaria to the Aegean
sea and the Sea of Marmora.
Paris Likely to Get
Peace Conference
ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 14.—Prep
arations are being made in official cir
cles for a conference of the powers to
be held following the declaration of
peace between Turkey and the Balkan
allies.
It is believed here that the negotia
tions will be opened, probably in Paris,
within a fortnight.
Count Witte, who negotiated the
Russo-Japanese peace convention for
Russia in America, will probably repre
sent the St. Petersburg government.
While peace is believed near, never
theless Russia is not overlooking the
possibility of diplomatic complications
which may threaten another rupture in
Europe.
Balkan dispatches indicate now that
Alabania will become an autonomous
principality under the nominal suze
rainty of the Turkish sultan Instead of
being divided up among the allies.
Salonika will probably be Interna
tionalized and Roumania will get a slice
of Bulgarian territory for remaining
neutral. Austria and Servla will prob
ably Join Wands tn the construction of
an Adriatic-Danube railway and Ser
via will be given free commercial use
of the Adriatic ports of Durazzo and
San Giovanni di Medura.
Bourses Reflect
Peace Prospects
PARIS, Nov. 14. —The continental
bourses today reflected a strong and
favorable tone as a result of the pros
pects for Immediate peace in the Bal
kans, without resultant European en
tanglements.

fifth annual exhibition of the Thomas
County Farmers Fair association, which
IS now in progress here, Is conceded to
be the best held since the organization
of the association. The attendance is
large.
The display of farm and garden

and tancy work is above the average.
Ths exhibit of the Girls Canning club
attracts great attention and reflects
credit both upon the girls and Miss
Forrest, the county demonstrator, who
has been in charge of the work this
year.
The poultry show Is a great feature.

stock exhibit is the largest seen here.

TEACHER, STRICKEN ILL
IN FORSYTH SCHOOL, DIES
FORSYTH, GA., Nov. 14.—The body
of Miss Sarah Pennington, who died at
Dr. Allen's sanitarium in Milledgeville,
on Tuesday night, was brought to For
syth for interment yesterday afternoon
After graduating from the local high
school, Miss Pennington attended the
Georgia Normal and Industrial school
in Milledgeville, and upon her grad
uation last June returned here and took I
charge of Sunshine school. She was |
stricken while teaching.
Mias Pennington was the daughter of
G. A. Pennington, a prominent citizen
of Forsj'th. She is survived by her
parents, three brothers and two sis
ters,

WHO SEES MYSTERY
Mrs. W. S. P’arker; of 87 Adams
street,- Decatur, called the chief of po
lice today, to ask that the mullato boy
she employed to look after a little boy
relative be not annoyed any more by
persons who think he is a woman in
disguise. She said the young negro
has long hair and a rather effitninate
appearance and this had led to his be
ing stopped by Rev. G. R. Buford, con
nected with the Men and Religion For
ward Movement, who believed the child
was being kidnaped.
Mr. Buford saw the child and his at
tendant on the Whitehall viaduct yes
terday afternoon and at once jumped to
the conclusion that something was
wrong, and perhaps the boy was being
kidnaper! by a woman dressed in a
man’s attire. He called Policeman Hill,
who questioned the young negro, but
declined to make an arrest unless Mr.
Buford assumed all responsibllitj'.
While they were discussing the matter
both the child and the attendant disap
peared. The police made a search, but
the mysterious pair had taken the trol
ley to Decatur and their trail was lost.

White, aged 22, ended his own life, Mrs.
Dora B. -White announced she had con

he was murdered. An accident insurance
company has told her It would not pay a

he did not die by his own hand. Her
motive. g|ie declares, however, is not to
get the money but to wipe a stain from
