HENRY WATTERSON
NOMINATES BRYAN
FOR AMBASSADOR
L< UISVILLE, KY„ Nov. 21.—Henry
Watterson, in a Courier-Journal edi
| torlal, nominates William Jennings
Bryan for ambassador to England, aft
er expressing the fear that If Mr. Bryan
is made secretary of state the adminis
tration will not be large enough to hola
both Mr. Bryan and President Wilson;
also, that the Nebraskan has personal
grudges with Champ Clark and Oscar
| Underwood that would interfere.
Therefore, says Mr. Watterson:
“Tlie Courier-Journal out of Its con
suming love for both Mr. Wilson and
Mr. Bryan, nominates Mr. Bryan for
ambassador to the court of St. James.
It will cut the Gordian knot, solve tho
problem, lift the veil and remove the
pressure. There need be no friction or
thought of friction. That ‘long jaw’
and that ‘bulging bald spot’ will be
segregated by miles and leagues of the
multitudinous seas incardine—or words
to that effect—and Champ and Oscar
can come and go between the white
house and the capitol without hin
drance. or disguise. Besides, we do so
want to see Mr. Bryan tn knee breeches
I and silk stockings.”

You can prevent colds easier than

blood flow iug in the veins. Where there
is no reserve strength, as in frail chil

thin blood and low vitality, as in the
aged, a tonic is needed to replenish the
system and to ward off colds and
coughs.
Jacobs’ Wine Cod Liver Extract is a
pleasant tonic. The disagreeable oils
and fats have been eliminated, and it
will not upset a sensitive stomach—in
stead it stimulates digestion and in
creases the appetite >t combines with
