Poindexter, dropped dead on the street here at the comer of Seventh street and Georgia avenue. The young girl was suddenly stricken with heart failure awd life was almost extinct when her body was lifted from the street. Towns, of New York, asking him to name two qualified Georgians who likely would be inter ested in a nation-wide movement against the abuse of narcotic drugs and their illegal sale. The governor referred the letter to Dr. T. A. Cheatham, state drug inspec tor of the agricultural department, with the suggestion that he act as one rep resentative for Georgia, and that he name an associate. EX-LAWYER on trial IN WHITE SLAVE CASE CHATTANOOGA, TENN., Nov. 23. The defense in the "white slave" case of R. T. Cameron, a disbarred Chatta nooga attorney, rested today. The tes timony was sensational. Rebuttal tes timony and argument were heard this afternoon. The case goes to the jury Monday morning. Cameron is charged with enticing Louise Nixon and Aileen Bailey to Chattanooga from their homes in Alabama. SHAW, BLIND TIGER KING, IS TRAPPED BY BOAST OF HIS “PAL” Dan Shaw, former chief of Atlanta's blind tiger clan, is in prison in Gran ite City, 111., today awaiting- extradi tion to Atlanta because his fame as an illicit purveyor of whisky had extend ed to the Illinois manufacturing town and because his trusted friend had glo ried too strongly in that reputaiion. Shaw left Atlanta several months ago, leaving several bonds he had made for liquor violations unsatisfied and a charge of felonious assault still to be answered. With Shaw went Ben Har graves. a boon companion. The Pinkerton agency was employed in the case and Shaw was traced :o Granite City. The St. Louis Pinker tons were notified and an operative was sent to the place. Hargraves was located easily, work ing in a steel mill. Shaw was not found so easily. The detective, how ever, got in Hargraves’ confidence and proposed that they start a blind tiger business. He was then told that the i “king- of the tigers” was in Granite i City. Dan Wallace, a machinist in the ’ steel mill, was. none other than Dan Shaw, the notorious whisky man. Shaw’s arrest followed and yesterday } Detective George Bullard was sent to bring him to Atlanta. SKIN OF DOG GRAFTED ONTO ARM OF A WOMAN CHICAGO, Nov. 23.—Announcement has been made at a south side hospital of the successful outcome of a ease of skin grafting, in which a large piece of the skin of a skye terrier was placed . over a wound on the arm of Mrs. H. "• Johnson, of Menominee, Wis. The wound had been left after an opera i tion for a tubercular arm. It is said to be the first operation of i its kind, and was performed ten days ago.
