THE ideal Lakenvelder i- one of the most
strikingly beautiful fowls I have ever
seen. As has been said, they are living
pictures- in black and white. Neck, hackle
and tail black, while their bodies are pure
whit* . In size and shape they largely re
semble the Leghorn, being hardly so large
and layers of fair sized white eggs. Be
cause of their great egg production thej
have been called Jerusalem or everlasting,
layers. They are practically non-setters.
While ’hey can not be recommended as
a marke fowl on account of being a lit
s • their other desirable features
more than make up for this lack. Thej
are hardy, vigor »us and good foragers
\ flock of these beautiful birds are an
ornament as well as a profi to any farm.
