The American Fed eration of Labor has held only two ex ecutive sessions in 30 years, and it is our policy never to hold one. The common conception is that the union men are working only for shorter , hours and more pay. That is far from the truth it is true that we are ask ing that, but we are using such ad vantages in bettering our condition, and thus benefiting society. Aims of the Congress. • We are striving for a purer woman hood, a brighter childhood, a higher manhood, a chance to send our children to school, to enable our women to en gage in church work and for the head of the family to move Into the sun light and fresh air of better quarters. "The Southeastern Labor congress is in its formative state, but it will have a great field of work. We shall attempt to obtain the repeal of anti-labor laws which are inimical to society. It is only necessary to point out the im proved condition of the workingman who is in the unions to illustrate the principles for which we stand. Higher wages and shorter hours have brought not only better conditions for the work ers. but more money to manufacturers, because the quality of products has been improved vastly.” King Hudson, secretary of the Ini tiative and Referendum league; Mrs. Mary McLendon and Rev. E. Dean El lenwood will speak at. the convention. BREAKS LEG BY FALL. WAYCROSS, GA., Dec. 5.—A 30-fOOt rail from the top of a telephone pole to th' brick pavement below gave E.
