According to the assertions made In a
125,000 damage suit filed today against
the Whittier Mills Company, Mr An
nie Sullivan, aged 50 years, one of the
company's 75-cent-a-day employes,
lay ten weeks with a broken hip suf
fering agonv while the company's phy
sician, Dr. McMillan, treated her for a
severe bruise.
After she had failed to improve under
Dr. McMillan's ministering*. Mrs Sul
livan told the court she was ■ xamltc .

declared that her hip had been broken,
had knitted improperly and that she
would be a cripple for life lie ;id
vised her removal to a hospital.

I take her, saying she was a non-resl-

The building Inspector declares that
there will have to be some action of
council or change in the plans before

In the meantime, the builders are
going ahead with steam shovel excava
tions, anticipating that there will b*
little trouble in conforming with th<
law The Wlnecoff is to be of steel
construction, and to cost about $300,000.

CONVICTED OF KILLING
HUSBAND ON
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 17. -A verdict
of guilty of murder In the first degree
was returned against Mrs. William
Trost, who has been on trial charged
with having poisoned her husband. The
Jury was out only a short time. The
murder took place in the first week of
the honeymoon of the pair, and it was
alleged by the state that Mrs. Trost
married the man to get his estate.
